First HALF of Summer??

Image
I'm thanking God (and my husband 😊) that I am not going back to teaching next year, or else I'd be way more depressed today, as I realized that summer is just about halfway over. June was pretty busy as I tried to recover from school, while also getting back into real estate, plus all the stuff with the kids. Their extracurriculars don't quit in the summer like they did when they were little so Wednesday is the only day we don't have anywhere we HAVE to be. Lillian is still feeding horses on the weekend, teaching lessons two days a week, and taking lessons herself. Plus she worked horse camp two days in June Kathleen wrapped up her volleyball season and she really enjoyed it. Plus she has cheer three days a week, but I don't have any pictures from that because we don't get to watch. Lillian went with her friend Callie to Cypress' high school beach camp. They left on a Monday and came back on a Friday and had three full days in Panama City. Twice a day worsh...

McCormick Beach 2025

Image
It had been 3 years since we took a family beach trip with the McCormicks and it was so nice to get together again! Me, Matt and the girls met Yaya and Capn in Pensacola on the Saturday after school got out and the rest of the family got there Monday. We spent most of the time relaxing on the beach We did some fishing and crabbing one evening  The "big kids" went to a nice dinner together one night while the grandkids stayed with yaya and Capn. Me and Matt took our girls to breakfast and souvenir shopping one morning for some family time The boys took 4 of the 6 kids on a chartered deep sea fishing trip and they had a great time catching us dinner And we had an impromptu family photo shoot the last night too We had to leave a day earlier than everyone else because Kathleen had to get back for her uniform fitting for her first year of competitive cheer and a volleyball game.  She's only had one cheer class so far but she thinks she's going to love it!  We were back for...

Schools OUT!

Well, it actually has been about 2 weeks since school got out, but maybe now that I'm not out of the house full time, I'll keep up with this better. I'm going to post a few pics from the last week of school and then update in the next few days about the McCormick beach trip we got back from 3 days ago.  I didn't even get up and take a last day of school pic with a sign for the first time ever! So the pic I snapped that morning of Lillian and Jackson and the selfie I had Kathleen send me (she didn't go back to school after field day) will have to do  We wrapped up that weekend before the last 2 days with more baseball, riding, and animal time The last two days of school were a Monday and Tuesday and we literally did nothing. We cleaned out the science closet and the kids played outside, watched movies and we even did "Just Dance" on YouTube with teachers and kids. It was actually a pretty fun two days, and even though I won't miss being in the classroom...

One Tail Ends, Another Begins

Oh Bella B! She was Lillian's 5th birthday present and the girls don't remember a time without her. Yesterday was a hard day when we finally had to decide it was time to let her go. She's had some tumors growing on her for the last several years and it got to the point where we could no longer deny she was in too much pain. She was the best dog and will definitely be missed. We are all absolutely heartbroken, but are so thankful for all the years with her. We've had some other changes in our house recently too. We were at Jackson's birthday dinner and a friend of his mom mentioned having a kitten she was trying to give away. Lillian has always wanted an animal to sleep with her, and Matt and I knew that Bella's time was soon (plus we lost both guinea pig pigs in the last few months) so we decided it was a good time to add to the family. We've had Katniss about two weeks now, and she is fitting in perfectly! Her name comes from the main character in the Hunge...
