We surprised Yaya with matching outfits for all of the kids to take pictures on the beach this evening. They all looked like little angels but we know better!
It took a million shots to get the few that turned out but they look so sweet in their outfits. We have the most previous children. (Just ask me;)
We had a great 2 night mini vacation on Toledo Bend for New Years Eve. We’ve spent it celebrating with Shanon and Alex for 9 or 10 years now (something like that I think!) ๐ And every year it gets better. Most of this trip was spent fishing and hanging out. We set yo-yos when we got there and woke up Monday morning to a catfish on the line. Look at the excitement on Katie’s face! So, after Shanon and Matt ran to Walmart for more bait, the rest of the day was spent sitting around on the deck and fishing (and drinking mimosas of course) Logan loved hugging the dogs. It was the sweetest! Katie had never caught a fish before and she caught 3 in 5 minutes. We got a total of 15 and that was enough for Matt to fry (first meal in his new Christmas fryer) to go with our black eyed peas, cabbage and cornbread on New Years Day. The house the great, the scenery was beautiful and the fishing was fun. But the best part was that we were all together. Happy New Year!
That's right! Matt and I are having another baby! I'm pretty sure everyone that reads has already heard but this blog is a record of our lives so of course I had to include it. I had my 3rd doctors appointment and ultrasound today at 10 weeks. His or her heartbeat is very strong (166 at 7 weeks and 184 today) and measuring ahead of schedule. Another big baby! We told Lilli a couple of weeks ago and she is excited although I'd bet she doesn't really get it. We've explained that we will be the baby's Mama and Daddy too and that he or she will live with us and she seems to understand. I'm sure it's not going to fully sink in until he or she arrives though. She is very sweet and always saying she wants to buy toys and clothes for the baby while we are in stores and says she's going to teach him or her "how to play." Her teacher asked me today if we knew what we were having but I told her we still had a few weeks. She laughed and said ...
Today started like they have the last few months. There was no mad rush to get ready or first day jitters. I was up early with Katie not far behind and Lilli was up about 7:30. I drank coffee while watching the news and fixed them breakfast before leaving for my walk about 7:45. I got back about 8:40 and took a quick shower and was in the classroom right at 9:00. That’s our plan for start time for the year because we all decided we may as well get that benefit from it! Of course we had to start the day with the obligatory 1st day pics. ๐ When I thought we were done they decided they had to go grab masks and backpacks for one last picture because they didn’t want to be left out of that for this year. Although they may have just been stalling, lol. We start with The Pledge, My Country ‘Tis of Thee, a prayer and Bible lesson everyday. One of the many benefits of this curriculum. I decided to break the first day up over 2 days to ease in to it so we only worked until 11:00. The prerecorde...
