Daddy's Girls

Last weekend was one of the best weekends of Matt's life. It was youth weekend in Arkansas and just him and his girls went to the camp for a morning together. He couldn't carry a gun and never fired shot and they got a limit. Kathleen got her first one in the air and Matt said Lillian can out shoot most men he knows. She even got one with her great-grandfather's "Sweet 16."  It was a super special weekend I know they will all always remember. The girls have really been enjoying some girl time lately too. We have gone to see Lillian's friend's band twice We've been to basketball and baseball games, to dinner and of course time at Vivette's with Little Rock too  It's been a nice few weeks and I'm loving watching them do all the things they love

Kathleen had her first NGA meet of the season at Centenary on Saturday and it went really well. She did have a fall on the beam, and her vault can still use some work, but she managed to come in 1st on the floor and bars and 2nd  all around! We would've been proud no matter what the score, but of course it's always exciting to win. Pops and Honey came in town for the whole weekend, Capn and Yaya were there, and Kelli came to cheer her on too!  Friday was a big day all around. Kathleen skipped school and went down to Baton Rouge Thursday with Brian and Sadie. We joined this thing called "Tumbling Tigers" through LSU and it got them access on the floor during warm-ups and introductions. They got autographs from some of the gymnasts too. Brian decided to make a little mini vacation out of it and they went to the old and new state capitals, a baseball scrimmage and walked around campus a little bit before the meet that night. I'm 5 days late on her birthday post, but we had the best time celebrating our 15 year old!  How did she go from that baby to such a young woman so quickly?? It always hurts my heart a little to see her birthday pictures through the years. But she is so fun and I wouldn't trade the age I have now for anything. We both skipped school the day before her birthday to have a girls day. We had nails and hair done, had lunch with Yaya and got a massage  We went to the deer camp that night so she could wake up and hunt on her bday morning. From there, we went home so she could spend some time with her favorite boy, Little Rock We got home in just enough time to set up and get ready for her party that night. We had 29 teenagers (including Kathleen and a friend) and Kelli came to supervise with me. They went through 100 cane's chicken tenders. 4 pans of fries, 4 pans of mac and cheese, 80 rolls, plus fruit, cookies and cake!  It was crazy, but about as good as I could have expected...

The day after Christmas, Dad and Janet headed home while the rest of us went up to the deer camp. Jen, Ryan and Anna only stayed one night, and left that Friday, and the plan was for Piper to stay until Sunday. We kept extending it and she ended up staying until Saturday, the 4th – so she was here for 11 days total! We stayed at the camp those 1st 2 nights and did some deer and duck hunting We came back Saturday so that they could ride (plus Lil had to work) and also went to see a movie with Cara, Josie and Kelli. Monday we went to see Josh and Hailey‘s beautiful new house they just built. I wish I would’ve taken some pictures, but it’s absolutely gorgeous! Tuesday was a pretty lazy day until people came over for New Year’s Eve. Lillian had five friends over and they played games and hung out until after midnight. My car broke down right after we took Brynn home on New Year’s Day, so Wednesday and Thursday were spent at the house. We watched a lot of movies and they did a lot of painti...
