Race for the Cure 2015

Yesterday was the 5th Race for the Cure that "Kathy's Gang" has had the privilege of participating in.  We raised over $1600 and had a good turnout of friends and family.  Dad kept up the tradition of the Friday night wine and cheese party but I have to thank Janet this year for putting it all together.  It was a really fun party full of delicious appetizers and of course good wine.  It's our tradition to always say a prayer together to remember those we have lost and the real reason we all gather for the weekend.

The Race morning was gorgeous and we couldn't have asked for better weather for our walk.  We had a great time visiting under the tent and of course lots of good food there too.  Sausage balls and cinnamon rolls before the walk and then jambalaya and shrimp pasta for after.  And Dads ration of mimosas is always perfect- 8 bottles of champagne to 2 bottles of orange juice. ;)

And then last night the 26 family members that are in town gathered back at Dad's for a meal to celebrate my birthday.  Nana made meatloaf, Janet made salad and potatoes, Dad made dinner rolls and Lizard made a red velvet cake.  It was delicious and everyone had a great time again. I love when my big family can get together.

And all 4 girls had a slumber party here last night so we got to wake up ON MY BIRTHDAY to these sweet faces.

Happy Birthday to me!
