Merry Merry

It has been 3 full days of Christmas around here. It started Thursday with our Apollo PTL Christmas party at Nicky's. It was fun to hang out with these ladies in a social situation! 

What's not pictured is the karaoke that took place after our margaritas but we'll never share those! :) 

Friday was busy busy with Christmas at schools. I checked Lillian out so that she could come watch her sister as a shepherd in her school play. From there, we had lunch at Nicky's. And then it was straight to Apollo for Lilli's school party. 

The kids had so much fun but this Mama was tired! Between hosting that, cleaning up and getting ready for Monday's party with her teacher, we were there for hours. We spent the night at Yaya's house in Vivian last night but we were all too exhausted to do much more than sit around and watch Christmas movies. Which was nice in itself. Her house is beautiful all the time but especially at Christmas and I loved sitting there looking at the lights.

And then this morning we all got up and went to breakfast with Santa at Jubilee Zoo. We've gone every year since Katie was born, except for last year because of Matt's surgery. The girls were glad to pick back up the tradition.


There has been lots of excitement in this house but I am glad for a night at home!

I think someone may be a little spoiled....

  So Lilli has been sick the last two days with a croup cough.  She's had fever and the cough has been nasty so Mom has been making her stay in.  I think she is getting a little stir crazy and decided what she wanted to do instead.  It started when I told her we were going to see Yaya for lunch tomorrow.  Yaya is being so sweet and going to entertain her for a bit while I get my hair cut and then we'll grab some lunch.  I know someone that will be excited to get out of the house but especially to see her Yaya!

Summertime!

Yesterday was Bossier’s last day of school, but we’ve been in summer mode since they got done LEAP testing a couple of weeks ago. It’s honestly so dumb that they had 10 days of school after testing because they did NOTHING. There was a whole lot of movie watching and playing on computers. On top of the fact that grades were due over a week ago, so it’s not like there was much they could have done. We stayed out on school nights, had pool days and skipped half days to hang with Pops, or friends or just to bake.  Katie had her awards and field day last Wednesday. She ended the year with Straight A’s and a member of National Honor Society. It was so fun to watch her compete in field day events and get to meet some more of her school friends too I checked Katie, Madison and Britney out of school when it was over, and they spent the afternoon in the pool and then we all (with Koy and Lil) went to Josie’s Tball game that night. Bar-J and More Baseball

For Christmas last year, Pops and Honey gave his 3 daughters and 4 granddaughters a weekend at a “dude ranch” for a gift. We picked the weekend because it was Anna and Piper’s spring break and it’s harder for Anna to miss school as a Junior than the other 3. The weather couldn’t have been anymore perfect and the timing worked out perfectly for us to celebrate Allie’s 40th birthday on the 4th too. They came in Thursday and Matt grilled steaks for her actual bday. I didn’t get one picture that night but it was a nice evening. The next morning, we got up and drove to El Dorado to the ranch. It was the “rancher’s experience” and we got in 3 rides, plus the kids got to help care for all the animals Dad has his own cabin and all 7 girls were in a bunk room together.
