One on One

After the Daddy/Daughter dance and movie night on Friday, we tried to continue that on through the weekend with getting some real family together time. We haven’t done too much of that since hunting season ended because of other things on the weekends so we decided to take advantage. Saturday was supposed to be my one on one time with Lillian but they were having so much fun together that she wanted Katie to come. They came with me to show a house and then we checked out a coffee shop that we had never been to that has a huge playground.

They loved it! And it was perfect because the coffee was good and I was able to sit there on my iPad and get all my work for the day done while they played.  (We did sit and have coffee and hot chocolate together first:) That night was family movie night. We ordered pizza and watched White Fang. The kids love it when we all cuddle on the couch together and something so simple seems to be so special to them.

Sunday was my turn to be one on one with Lillian while Matt had Katie. He took her home from church and they stopped for lunch and to go to Petsmart for fish.

I had kind of run out of time since Lillian brought Katie along on our Saturday date, so she just came with me to an open house. Which was actually perfect because that was two straight hours of us being able to sit and talk. It was raining so I did not have a single person come through. She said she was disappointed because she had been wanting to watch me work so I hope to bring her again next time.

We went straight from there to pick up Raegan so that Matt and I could have a date at the Oyster Bar. A perfect weekend because I got to spend time alone with each member of the family at some point. :)
And then Monday was beautiful so me and the girls rode our bikes to the park to play. I love having my bike back. Getting my old one fixed up with new tires and everything was Matt’s Valentine’s Day gift to me and I’ve already gone several times with them.

Isn’t it funny how we try so hard to do everything for our kids, and these every day moments turn out to be the best memories.
