Beautiful Weekend
We had a wonderful weekend all around. Lillian killed her first duck on a hunt with Matt, Capn and Josh and they also got great Daddy/Daughter time in the deer stand. It was a huge milestone for her and she was very proud to be invited for opening weekend.
We were able to celebrate my Dad’s 71st birthday with 2 of his daughters, one son-in-law and 3 of his grandchildren when we took him out to dinner on Friday night in Austin.
After dinner, we met up with Kelly and Emily and lots of their friends and family at a beer garden. It was the first time I’d seen the rest of the family after getting in town and it was really nice to catch up with my cousin, Jacob, who I had not seen in 12 years! It was kid friendly too. They had yard games and playground equipment for the kids and chairs around fire pits and a band for the adults. It was very cool and something different for us.
Piper stayed in the room with me and Katie all weekend and came with us and Pops on Sunday morning to GranJan and PapaRoy’s house to visit with them, Nana, and Lizard for the morning. We stayed several hours until we had to get ready for the wedding. I was glad to be able to help Janice get Nana ready and visit with everyone without a crowd. Pops and PapaRoy sat on the front porch talking the whole time and that was exactly the time my Dad was hoping to get with him. The kids had a blast playing with GranJan’s‘s puppy and watching all of the deer that are all over their neighborhood.
The wedding was absolutely beautiful. The scenery was gorgeous and Kelly and Emily wrote their own vows and it was obvious how happy they are. We had everyone from our newest one month old cousin to my 92-year-old grandmother, who has never missed a family wedding in all of her years. It was special to get to see them meeting for the first time.
It was an early wedding, the ceremony was at 3 o’clock and the reception ended at 7:00, and I’m starting to think that is how all weddings should be!
All of the McCormick dogs will get to celebrate. Looking forward to the holiday!

We all got in at a decent hour and were able to get up and get on the road by 7 AM to get home to Lillian. She was home alone because Matt went to work so I didn’t want it to be for too long. Even though she was perfectly fine and enjoys the alone time. 😉
We picked up Kaylee about 4 o’clock so that they could see each other over the break. They’ve really become good friends over this school year and had fun making dog birthday cake for Gypsy, whose 2nd birthday I missed yesterday, and also Bella, whose 7th birthday is on Thanksgiving day.
