We Are Thankful
What a difference a year makes! It was just a year ago that we were having an outdoor Thanksgiving and only made a day trip to the camp for it. Chad and Rachel stayed in Plano and our celebration was only a few hours. It was still nice, of course, but definitely not normal.
This week we got to have our first normal holiday since before Covid! Christmas last year was outside on Christmas Eve and just our nuclear family on Christmas Day. Even though a lot of family gathered for Easter in Baton Rouge, we still had the big get togethers and even the church service outside. So for the first time in over a year and a half, we got to have our normal tradition.
And there was hunting
There was wine and champagne as we watched Yaya cook-
we still have yet to REALLY learn how to do the turkey, but I do feel like I have a better idea than I ever had in the past. I think we’ve decided that this tradition needs to skip a generation anyway. 😉
We have so much to be thankful for!
The kids made their Reese and candy corn turkeys with Hay Hay on Thanksgiving afternoon
And there was football, naps, more hunting, more kid playing, more wine and lots of laughs. Such a blessing that this year looked so different from the last on both sides.
Katie and I came home today because we both felt like we could use the rest before Britney and Bella are here again Sunday and we are back to the school routine.
We are looking forward to a lazy Saturday to get rested up from our busy, but wonderful week. Happy Thanksgiving!

The tables were made beautiful as we all gathered around for the best meal of the year
