All Around Winner

I am late on my post, but it doesn’t mean I’m any less proud of Ms. Kathleen’s performance at her first ever gymnastics meet. She scored a 37.9 (out of 40) and won 1st place!

This is something she has been dreaming of since that bottom right picture. At that point, at age 5, she had already been taking classes for 3 years and dreamed of the day she would compete. Covid set her back a year or two, but she is finally here and loving it. It was the only the 2nd time she’d ever done something like this in her life- all eyes on her in front of a crowd- and the time before was a poetry competition in kindergarten at Airline’s auditorium. She was barely even nervous and handled the pressure beautifully though. We couldn’t be more proud. It was an in-house meet, meaning she was only competing against other girls on her team, so future competition will be steeper, but we know she will do great. ❤️

Dad and Lillian did drive in from the deer camp that day to watch her, but snuck out before awards and that’s why there are no pics. They had to get back to the deer stand so that Lillian could get her 3rd deer of the season, and the first one she will be able to add to the deer camp porch.

Kathleen went home with Sadie from the meet so that I could go to Ashley’s surprise 50th party. It was an all girl, sit-down dinner and so fun.

The rest of the week has been work and finishing up lessons before the break next week. We’ve done some cooking and I took the girls Christmas shopping too. We are even putting lights out on the chicken coop (pics to come, but one of “baby chicken” being accepted by the big girls for the memory)

The holidays are here!!
