Tis The Season

It feels like it was just summer, but here we are in the holiday season. And do you know what the holiday season means to the McCormick family?- It’s also hunting season! Last weekend was the Arkansas youth weekend, and Matt and Lilli went to the camp on Friday night. Lilli would pretty much rather be in the stand with her Daddy more than any other place in the world.

Not only does she enjoy the time with him, she also enjoys the fruits of the labor.

Not one, but 2 deer! She got one Saturday and one Sunday morning and Matt says she is a natural. He thinks she’s ready to go on her own, but she’s not sure she’s ready for that yet. It’s coming soon though! Katie and I went up there Saturday to hang out and watch the LSU game (a nail biter into overtime, but we beat Bama!), we got to watch them clean a deer and Katie also got some shooting time in on Sunday. She’s ready for her chance to learn!

It may have only been November 6th, but we put up our decorations on Sunday. They say people who decorate earlier are happier so I’m going to go with that being my excuse. :) It brings me joy and a month isn’t long enough

Two of the three trees are up, with plans so put up the last one this weekend. It’s just too big to get down on my own!

On Monday, it was a milestone day for Lilli. She finally got her ears pierced. Perfect timing to be able to change them out right before Christmas.
She was supposed to get them the Monday before, as well as flu shots, but she came down with the flu that day. What are the odds. 🙄 She missed the whole week of school with fever, but we were thankful she was finally well and able to go, and that Yaya got to be there to watch.

Tuesday was Election Day so Sadie spent the night Monday. The girls were having a great time

Until Katie was hit with sickness suddenly. Her throat starting hurting bad and her temp spiked up to 102. Rebecca came to get Sadie and I was convinced she had the flu, but luckily only strep and that can be cleared up quickly. We were so thankful because she has her in-house gymnastics meet tomorrow.

And then Thursday was another big day when our 4 new chickens arrived. We have a total of 8 now. 3 are almost 16 weeks, 1 is 9 weeks and the latest 4 are 6 weeks.

I think we finally have our flock settled and are now anxiously awaiting the 1st 3 to start laying. That would be a great Christmas gift for me!
