Fall Break

We had a wonderful fall break in the Dominican Republic with just our family of 4. We have been home for 5 days, but we did not get home until 3 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, which meant we weren’t in bed until about 4 o’clock, and it’s taken me about this long to recover from it, lol. We don’t handle staying up all night like we used to when we were younger!

This trip was originally planned for July, but the girls passports did not arrive in time even though we had applied for them six months prior. We had to fly United because of our flight credits, and they did not have the same flights available at this time of year. We had to go through Chicago on our way down there, and Newark on our way back. It made for long travel days, but we finally got to the resort about 5 o’clock that Sunday.

We made no plans to do anything ahead of time, and ended up being really glad we didn’t. We did nothing but wake up and go to breakfast, go down to the beach and stay until lunch,

And then we went back to the beach and stayed there until it was time for dinner. The girls and I all liked having to get “dressed” for dinner. We went to the lobby bar and had a glass of wine each evening before dinner, and the downstairs bar that had live music every evening after.

It was the perfect, relaxing five days that we needed!
