Kathleen Jane Had a Birthday
Happy birthday to our sweet, smart, generous, loving, athletic, funny, fun loving Kathleen! I’m late on this post because our weekend spent celebrating it was too full to get it together.
It’s so fun to look at her birthdays through the years. She’s growing into such a beautiful young lady from that beautiful girl.
Sadie’s parents were going out of town for the weekend, but she chose to stay with us instead of going with them so that she could be with Kathleen. They really have become the best friends. So at 3 o’clock, we left to pick her up from the bus stop since they were already gone. The waterslide was already delivered so they went straight to it. Koy‘s sister and one of Lillian‘s best friends, Brynn‘s birthday was Friday too, and Kathleen agreed to let all of their friends come over that night to play on it since her party with her friends was planned for the next day. They always include her and Sadie and everyone had a good time at our first birthday party of the weekend. We made a last-minute add to the names on the cake when we realized Cayden‘s birthday was Sunday.
They stayed until about 10:30 Friday night and then I was up at 9 AM showing houses on Saturday before setting up for the party.
The next day was the actual party for Kathleen with all of her gymnastics friends and a couple of girls from school. Lillian had gone to Koy‘s baseball tournament for the day so she had the house and her mom and dad to herself. They played on the slide, in the pool and on the trampoline. We all had cake and presents, and I got to meet a few of her school friends. Everyone played really well together and seemed to have a great time!
All of the kids that had gone to the tournament got back in town about 730 and came back to our house again to get one last use of that waterslide. Katie had Sadie and one other friend spend the night too. It’s nice that you get to keep it for so long, but it was another night of kids at the house until almost 11, lol.

Friday was the actual day and we celebrated by skipping school and going to brunch as a family. For the afternoon, she built Legos while we watched Gilmore Girls together, and I was working on food and the cake for the party for the next day.

Sunday morning, I left Matt with the house full of girls to go show again, and then Lillian and I drove down to Natchitoches for the second day of the tournament. I considered not going because it was far and I was exhausted, but I really do have fun at the games and I always like to support Koy, and I’m so glad I did. We were at the field for 10 hours, but they pulled out four wins, coming from behind in three of them to win the championship! He had some awesome hits and closed out the championship game pitching
I’ve never seen his mama or Lillian so stressed, but it was a lot of fun! We were not home until 915 and then up at school today, so everyone is worn out, but those kind of weekends are worth the tired
