Last Few Weeks

It’s been a busy few weeks around here. We got right back into school after fall break, but have been playing some too. The first weekend after we went back was opening of deer season and each of the girls got time in the stand with Matt. Lillian got her first deer of the season too!


The next day was our annual pumpkin patch pictures with Yaya and Hailey. I love having these to look back on through the years. 




Kathleen got to go see Josh and Hailey’s new house that’s almost done that afternoon, but Lillian and I had to stay in Bossier so she could work. She’s loving her job and her riding is really improving too! 


The next day, GranJan came in town for 2 nights. She wanted to see Lillian ride and watch Kathleen cheer at the last football game of the season too. I got a Sub and Lillian skipped Tuesday to hang out with her and get a pedicure and brunch. (Kathleen couldn’t because she had missed the week before being sick and she wouldn’t have been allowed to cheer)

The next weekend was more work at Vivette’s and Kathleen came with me to early vote 


Saturday night was Heather’s big, annual Halloween party. Britney is in one of my classes and invited friends so about 6 of my students were there. They thought it was hilarious to see me as Cruella. It was so fun to see some of our old preschool/First Methodist friends too. 








And then Thursday was actual Halloween and my school had a dress up day and trick or treating for the teachers.

And that night, we had 10 kids over to trick-or-treat, sit by a fire pit and watch a scary movie. It was too late for a school night but it was fun!

It’s crazy that it’s November and only 3 more school weeks until Thanksgiving break! I started Christmas shopping the other day. Holidays are here!

I think someone may be a little spoiled....

  So Lilli has been sick the last two days with a croup cough.  She's had fever and the cough has been nasty so Mom has been making her stay in.  I think she is getting a little stir crazy and decided what she wanted to do instead.  It started when I told her we were going to see Yaya for lunch tomorrow.  Yaya is being so sweet and going to entertain her for a bit while I get my hair cut and then we'll grab some lunch.  I know someone that will be excited to get out of the house but especially to see her Yaya!

Summertime!

Yesterday was Bossier’s last day of school, but we’ve been in summer mode since they got done LEAP testing a couple of weeks ago. It’s honestly so dumb that they had 10 days of school after testing because they did NOTHING. There was a whole lot of movie watching and playing on computers. On top of the fact that grades were due over a week ago, so it’s not like there was much they could have done. We stayed out on school nights, had pool days and skipped half days to hang with Pops, or friends or just to bake.  Katie had her awards and field day last Wednesday. She ended the year with Straight A’s and a member of National Honor Society. It was so fun to watch her compete in field day events and get to meet some more of her school friends too I checked Katie, Madison and Britney out of school when it was over, and they spent the afternoon in the pool and then we all (with Koy and Lil) went to Josie’s Tball game that night. Bar-J and More Baseball

For Christmas last year, Pops and Honey gave his 3 daughters and 4 granddaughters a weekend at a “dude ranch” for a gift. We picked the weekend because it was Anna and Piper’s spring break and it’s harder for Anna to miss school as a Junior than the other 3. The weather couldn’t have been anymore perfect and the timing worked out perfectly for us to celebrate Allie’s 40th birthday on the 4th too. They came in Thursday and Matt grilled steaks for her actual bday. I didn’t get one picture that night but it was a nice evening. The next morning, we got up and drove to El Dorado to the ranch. It was the “rancher’s experience” and we got in 3 rides, plus the kids got to help care for all the animals Dad has his own cabin and all 7 girls were in a bunk room together.
