What Day Is It??
Well we’re on Day 7 of serious quarantine. We were being very careful for a full week before that but still had to go into a few stores and come in contact with a few people as we worked to get the house on the market. The last seven days have been no one in, no one out, and even groceries being delivered. Boxes are opened outside and anything that can live in the garage for a few days before it comes in, does. Probably overkill but definitely can’t hurt until we know a little more. The kids are doing ok. In fact I’ve even caught them playing together a few times without being forced. 😉
We’re starting to stick to our schedule and getting in 2-2.5 hours of school work a day. The three of us are all exercising together every morning and there’s a lot of art projects going on. Daddy has even helped with a few
We went to a drive-in church at Asbury on Sunday. No one came in contact with each other but it was pretty nice to just see people and get in the car for a little bit. It was moving how many people came out to worship even though there is no fellowship to be had.
No one is really buying houses right now and we have not had any bites on ours. But that’s mostly because on Sunday the governor issued a stay at home order. Although real estate is considered essential, most people are respecting it and not getting out to look at houses unless they have to move for some reason. So I haven’t had too much work to do but I’m using it as a good time to stay in touch with my sphere and do a little marketing. My coworkers are enjoy us being home and putting in a good days work too.
I’ll be honest a lot of time is spent on social media and I found a few funny things and a few moving things about what everyone is going through with this Quarantine.
It’s definitely made life slow down. What a blessing it is that we have a house, food, and we can all be together. We are even more fortunate than a lot of people because we also have the deer camp we can go to when we need to stretch our legs. We went today and it was a nice change of scenery and we are thinking about going permanently. Or at least for the next 4 to 5 weeks until we can move into our new house. We figure that may get some bites on ours when we can advertise it as empty and it’s nice to have something more to do than watch TV and play on our phones.
And although I am definitely looking forward to some more unplugged time, I’m also super thankful for technology right now. Even though we haven’t seen anyone face-to-face, we are staying connected. I FaceTime Nana every morning. Hailey and I are playing scrabble on words with friends. I’ve done a few group FaceTime’s and Lillian‘s homeroom teacher even got the whole class together for a zoom meeting. It’s funny but before this, I talked to my cousins probably once or twice a year. But life slowing down has allowed so much reconnection that I hope can continue.
And though I’m not sure what day it is, we really are making the best of everything and it hasn’t been bad. My Nana probably had the best life advice there is. She spent the last three weeks in a rehab hospital and finally got to go home today. But because she’s in assisted-living there will be no visitors until it’s all over. At least her friends that live there can see her. But it is truly affecting every aspect of everyone’s life so don’t forget to count your blessings!
