Kathleen’s Birthday Party

Ms. KatieJane had an extended party this weekend. It got to start yesterday with a sleepover with the cousins. She told me over a month ago, when I asked what she wanted for her birthday, that the only thing she wanted was a sleepover with Josey at her house. ❤️ And it actually got to happen!

They got here about 7:00 last night and had a little over an hour to play on the waterslide before dark, and then stayed up until after 10:00 giggling in her room.
By 8AM, we had had cereal, cinnamon toast and snow cones for breakfast

And they played another hour on the waterslide before leaving for her soccer game. She was so excited to have her cousins there to cheer her on!

We got back around noon and set up for the gymnastics 🤸‍♀️ themed birthday party that was starting at 2:00. I decided to go super simple and do only individually packed snack foods. The only thing I made was the cake and it turned out super cute.

We had 15 kids and 9 adults and it was a nice afternoon. The kids mostly played on the waterslide and swing, while the adults sat around chatting. Katie has a new friend from her soccer team who homeschools and it was nice to get to know her Mom, and I hadn’t seen Ashley in forever, so I enjoyed it too.

We never got around to presents (they never dried off long enough to open them) so we did that after it was over and we all had our showers. The party is continuing with Landry staying with us until tomorrow evening. Her parents went out of town and asked if she could do she wouldn’t miss the party. 😊

It was a really good day and the perfect end to a birthday week!
