Southside Meet and More Birthdaying

Kathleen had her first NGA meet of the season at Centenary on Saturday and it went really well. She did have a fall on the beam, and her vault can still use some work, but she managed to come in 1st on the floor and bars and 2nd  all around! We would've been proud no matter what the score, but of course it's always exciting to win. Pops and Honey came in town for the whole weekend, Capn and Yaya were there, and Kelli came to cheer her on too!

Friday was a big day all around. Kathleen skipped school and went down to Baton Rouge Thursday with Brian and Sadie. We joined this thing called "Tumbling Tigers" through LSU and it got them access on the floor during warm-ups and introductions. They got autographs from some of the gymnasts too. Brian decided to make a little mini vacation out of it and they went to the old and new state capitals, a baseball scrimmage and walked around campus a little bit before the meet that night.

Lillian wasn't even mad about having to go to school because she and 4 of her friends got picked up on car line for a deer camp sleepover. We took them on a long ride, had a steak dinner and they hung out in the game room all night. A couple of the girls are definitely city girls and we're amazed at all the stars

It was a quick trip because we had to leave at 11 AM the next day to get back for Kathleen's meet, but they had a blast and already want to go back. Pops and Honey were glad to meet some of her friends and Pops even helped her feed horses Saturday night so he could see what she did for work.

We were thankful they made the trip! It was a really nice weekend and still gave us Sunday to rest before back to the work week. 68 school days left until summer. Not that I'm counting 😊
