I posted pictures of Matt and Lilli's garden a month ago. Look how they compare. It's crazy how much it's grown! We'll be eating some fresh squash tonight.
Matt and had the honor of being invited to celebrate Evan and Hannah's wedding in Oregon and it was a beautiful weekend! It was the first trip we had taken alone since we went to the Florida Keys a few years ago and it was nice to get away. My whole immediate family was there so we didn't get a ton of alone time, but we did have our own Airbnb and got to have breakfast together each day. We got there on a Thursday and the rehearsal dinner was that night. Friday was our free day and me, Matt, Dad, Janet, Jennifer and Allison drove around to sightsee and did a few short hikes. We drove across the Washington state line to have lunch too. Everyone was pretty tired that night, but me, Matt, Jennifer and Allison went to a wine bar for a couple of hours at the hotel where they were staying and watched a musician We wanted to do a hike that day that we did not have time for, so me, Matt and Allison left about 730 Saturday morning to do the 2 1/2 mile hike up to Multnomah Falls. There are only a few weekends lefts of hunting season and last weekend Katie and I decided to go up to the camp with Matt and Lil for a night of it. Shanon and Jeremiah were in town and we wanted to visit with them and spend time with the rest of the family up there too. We only stayed one night to get back for gymnastics and work, but for everyone else, there was a lot of hunting and memories made. Lillian had to miss Koy’s first tournament of the season, but there was no way she was missing hunting with her dad for that! We got back on Sunday and he came over to tell us about it. The weatherman had been forecasting snow for a week, but that forecast changed to mostly ice by the time it rolled around. The kids were already out for MLK day, and we were pretty sure Tuesday would be out too since we wouldn’t get above freezing, but they ended up being out through Thursday. Some people didn’t mind driving on the ice, but I was not one of them! I stayed home so some of the girls...
I'm thanking God (and my husband 😊) that I am not going back to teaching next year, or else I'd be way more depressed today, as I realized that summer is just about halfway over. June was pretty busy as I tried to recover from school, while also getting back into real estate, plus all the stuff with the kids. Their extracurriculars don't quit in the summer like they did when they were little so Wednesday is the only day we don't have anywhere we HAVE to be. Lillian is still feeding horses on the weekend, teaching lessons two days a week, and taking lessons herself. Plus she worked horse camp two days in June Kathleen wrapped up her volleyball season and she really enjoyed it. Plus she has cheer three days a week, but I don't have any pictures from that because we don't get to watch. Lillian went with her friend Callie to Cypress' high school beach camp. They left on a Monday and came back on a Friday and had three full days in Panama City. Twice a day worsh...
