School's Out For Summer!

For Lilli at least. Tomorrow is First Friends last day and also the last day Hallie and Sadie will be at our house. Apollo is technically still in school but her teacher told me they would not be doing any school work and the absence wouldn't count. So instead, she is going to come with me to be my teaching assistant. Something she's wanted to do since I started working at First Friends.

Lilli had a good time at field day. She said her favorite part was tug a war because her class beat all of the others. I didn't get any pictures of the relays or races because I only went the last 30 minutes. Her teacher said she had fun running around and playing until snack time. It had started a few minutes before I got there and she was crying because no one from her family was there to sit with her. I love her teacher though because she sat with her until I got there. She was very happy to see us!
And although I hated to miss today, I couldn't brave being there longer with these 3 :)

We watched her play for a little bit

Before going home for lunch and naps. On the way home I surprised her by telling her that summer had started.
She didn't hear her teacher tell me it was ok to miss tomorrow so this is the face of a kid that just found out there is no school for the next 3 months.  It's funny because the next thing she asked was, "so, if I'm going in to first grade, what grade will I be in when school ends?" When I told her 12, it quickly went from the best day to the worst day of her life. :)

What a difference kindergarten made in her.
             First day of school/Today

She's grown up so much and is definitely not a little kid anymore. She's more confident too. She's reading, has basic math skills and has discovered she loves music.  I'm excited to watch her grow even more at Herndon.
