Have Yourself A Merry Maycember
I saw a video on YouTube today mocking how May has become the new December without the lights. For all of us with young kids it is non-stop! I guess it’s kind of a blessing in disguise that the kids were sick all last week because that was teacher appreciation and I would have been up at the school at least three times. Instead I got to stay home to rest up for this week. There was something going on every day except for Monday. Of course Tuesday was the graduation.
Katie enjoyed running around with her friends but she’s still at the age where Mama is cool so she had me climbing playground equipment, going down the slides and running all over that playground. Something told me I was a little big for it but I didn’t let that stop me from playing with her. :)
It’s amazing what a difference three years makes and so even though I am absolutely exhausted tonight I am eating up the time because I know it won’t be long until they are both too cool for me. Tomorrow is field day and I’m there all day. Monday is an AR party and Tuesday is the awards ceremony where we are celebrating Lillian‘s honor roll for the whole year and straight A’s this nine weeks. She did awesome!
Plus every evening at 5:30 is either a soccer game or swim team practice. And of course I’m trying to work some in there too. :) which has meant late nights on the computer so I can spend my days with them. But it’s all worth it. At the end of today I could not even imagine standing outside in that heat again for 5 hours for field day and told them I was going to come late and leave a little early. Neither one of them loved that and so when I get in those moods I try to remember that these are memories for all of us. My aunt sent me this a while back. She always takes off work when we come in town. This quote is so true!
And only five more school days before we are done and headed to the beach! SO READY to relax.
And I still can’t believe my “baby” is done with kindergarten. Wednesday I had to take Katie to the doctor to find out that she will be having her tonsils and adenoids out this summer. Five rounds of strep in one school year was enough for me! Plus her airway is blocked 60% by her adenoids. I hate she’s going to have to go through it but I’m glad it will help.
Today was Beach day for kindergarten followed immediately by spring fling for third grade so I was outside at the school for 4 hours.

Lillian wanted me there and would come up and hug me every once in a while but I stood around talking with friends as much as I was with her.
