Finally Fall

I guess I haven’t really been myself this year because normally we are doing something “fallish” every weekend of October and the kids wear their costumes 3 or 4 times before the actual day with all the festivals we do. (I guess it didn’t help that the weather didn’t cool off until 2 weeks ago either.) But this weekend we made up for it! Saturday night was the Garcia Zombie Apocalypse Party.

Katie’s best friend’s family does a big party every year and it’s always fun. Matt came home from the deer camp early to do Katie’s makeup (she didn’t trust me to make it scary enough) and he was successful. She loved that all the kids told her how scary she was and ran from her. We stayed three hours and the kids ran around playing the whole time. I had fun visiting with friends too.

This morning we went to early church before going to the State Fair. This is the 2nd year we’ve taken them and they love it. I got a wrist band to ride rides with them too and I probably had more fun than they did. We even got Katie on the Ferris wheel even though she hated it.

I asked Katie how many rides made her cry and she said “only 2 or 3.” Lol, She loved it though. And she kept wanting her picture taken which is funny because she’s the one that usually hates it.
We stayed almost 4 hours so, between that and our late night Saturday, were TIRED by the time we got home. We rested a bit but by evening Matt and the kids were carving pumpkins while I fried deer meat.

Matt did one for Katie (cat one of course) while Lillian carved hers. We’re a little earlier than normal but needed to get it done since we go for his Houston check up this week. They get a couple of days with Pops and Nana but we get back just in time for Halloween.
