Thanksgiving Break
When Matt was in the hospital our family dropped everything to be there for him and help with the kids without a second thought. And of course no one ever wants there to be the circumstance where you can return that kind of favor but I have been happy to be able to do it for Rachel a little this week. She had a bad reaction to a medication that put her in the hospital and she’s been dealing with it for several weeks. She’s starting to do better now but Hailey went over there last week to stay with her and then brought the kids back here. It truly does take a village and I don’t know what we would do without each other. I’m happy to be able to help in a small way.
They got to Vivian late Friday and Yaya and I were there with the other 4 when everyone woke up Saturday morning. These kids are so sweet and really love being together. From there we went to the deer camp for two nights to be able to spread out and play a little more.
We really didn’t know what our plan was going to be but it became very clear that these kids did not want to split up so we came up with a plan to all stay together. ❤️ They came to Bossier with me on Monday and played with Raegan while I went to work and Hailey got her hair cut and then she and I took them all to a movie.
Everyone but Lane had a big slumber party and I had them while Hailey delivered poinsettias this morning and then she came to pick them up to take them for the night so that I could do my Thanksgiving cooking and get ready for and go to a closing tomorrow.
We truly are lucky to have each other. I love that the kids Aunts and Uncles love them so much and are always there to help when we need it. We’ve always joked about being sister wives but sometimes it’s more true than others. 😊 Tomorrow we will go to the deer camp and Chad and Rachel will get there. I know they are missing Austin and Josey like crazy but we have really loved having them and Lilli even said “this is longer than we get to be together at the beach!”
And of course being close to Thanksgiving means it’s time to decorate in our house! I’ve never been one to wait until after the turkey so it went up on November 20th.
I’ve read that people that decorate for Christmas earlier are happier so that’s always been my excuse… Not that I need one! Happy Thanksgiving! And Merry Christmas!

On a different note, last week was full of fun to celebrate the holiday too. Yaya went to Thanksgiving lunch with the girls.
