Country Social Distancing
Moving up to the little cabin at the camp was the best decision we could have made right now and we are super thankful for Yaya and Capn for letting it happen. We we’re happy at our house and had no complaints but there is much more to do here and no worries about coming in contact with anyone else. The President has extended the guidelines for staying home until April 30th (and I’m not getting my hopes up for that day either because too many people still don’t take it seriously) so there will be no more school this year. We are expecting an official announcement this week but even if they allow kids to go back a week or two our girls won’t be.
So Mama is doing the best she can and we may not be doing too much but they are doing some work each day. I told them even here we can’t act like it’s an extended vacation. Although recess looks WAY different than it did in our little backyard.
We spend a lot of time together but we are finding things to do on our own.
Lilli LOVES fishing and will now go by herself. I think she’s caught 10 bass with no one out there in her “honey hole.” Her teacher also hosts a zoom meeting everyday to connect with her school friends.
Katie isn’t as big in to fishing but she does like taking the net and catching crawfish and frogs. She also likes to play with Mama and Gypsy and has been FaceTiming with Britney everyday. I thought it was really clever that they both got out their Lol dolls last night and set up the iPad to see and played together.
I’ve found some time for alone coffee and like to go up on the balcony to call friends and family. I’ve even gotten some work done but the best part was the accepted offer we got on our house yesterday! We are scheduled to close one week after we close on the new one (fingers crossed for inspections!) so that’ll be just enough time to get settled. We will stay here until it’s time to pack. And I’ll be honest that I don’t know what all Matt has been doing but he finds tons of projects outside. You know he’s in his element.
Even the pets have found their favorite spots. It’s been really nice and definitely the perfect place to “quarantine”

Of course I’m ready for somewhat normal life to start again but I really hope some of the things we have learned will carry over. I know when the world opens again my first day out will be a haircut and to take the kids to see their friends and family. And then a trip to Baton Rouge. What will you be doing?
