Officially On the Market

Well even in this crazy world life still goes on. Our house went on the market today and I’m am preparing to say goodbye to Brown St.

I have no idea how long it will take but it’s only been on the market a few hours and according to Zillow is the #1 viewed home in the neighborhood that’s been looked at over 200 times and shared to several favorites too. So that’s promising but I don’t know how many people are looking when we are supposed to be “social distancing.” We are prepared to go to the camp for a few days if people do want to look this weekend so that we can keep our distance too. I definitely have mixed emotions. I realized the other day that I’ve lived in this house longer than any other house my whole life. 13 years- it’s a long time and so many memories made.

But of course that will fade and turn in to just excitement over the new house as it gets closer.

We have looked on and off for YEARS and we finally found one that checked every box on our wish list. A remote master, separate “hang out” space for the kids, an acre with plenty of sun for Matt’s garden, an open floor plan so I can be in the kitchen cooking while the family is in the living room, and a pool! I can’t wait for summer. I’m wishing we were there now because I’d have the most organized house in the world with all this time and being able to do it from scratch. Our original plan was to do lots of updates and not even list this house until that one was closer to close but with the current market situation we decided updates can wait and let’s just go ahead and get it sold. Hopefully it won’t take too long! We’ll be in it in about 4 weeks and there’s a chance I’ll get to organize anyway if we’re still “quarantined.”

And on a different note yesterday was report card day. I forgot to look it up until tonight but straight A’s for both girls! Normally we’d celebrate with yogurt but they got that with Yaya the day spring break ended so we’ll call it done.

Congrats to both of them. And next week we’ll get started with a stricter home school.
