Happy Easter!
We had a wonderful weekend in Baton Rouge with lots of celebrating. It started Friday night at Jennifer’s house with a family dinner to celebrate Kathleen’s birthday.
We were there, as well as Jen, Ryan and the girls, Pops and Honey, Nana, Lizard, Allie and Jimmy and Theresa. She got gifts from everyone and we had burgers and sides with brownies since Kathleen isn’t big on cake. The girls stayed the night with the cousins while Matt and I stayed at Dad’s.
(It made us want our pool fixed so bad but there is no end in sight for that)
The kids hunted eggs
And we went on a boat ride where we saw 4 gators, a bald eagle and countless turtles
We got back a little bit before 5 and then met Nana, Jimmy and Theresa at a restaurant for dinner.
And then went to church to celebrate our Risen Savior! It was a beautiful service and nice to get some pictures with all of us dressed up
Janet stayed home to get brunch together so that it was ready when we got back. We got in a few more hours of visiting and another delicious meal before heading home. Matt drove us while the rest of us slept most of the way. (Literally 2+ hours for me and KJ and 3+ for Lil) He didn’t mind though, I’m sure that meant he drove too fast and was glad we never had to stop 😉
No matter how much fun we have, and how nice it is to see the family, it’s always good to be home!

On Saturday, Matt and I went to have coffee with Nana before going to pick up everyone from the Schwab house to go to Michaelyn and Rick’s for the day. They have a great house on the river in Covington with a pool and party barge and it was a nice day. The kids finally got some time in the pool

We sat around visiting and they fixed a HUGE lunch of ham, turkey, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and dressing.

And this morning was,of course, Easter! We started the morning by checking out baskets and hunting eggs to see what all the bunny had brought.
