Tis The Season

Like most, this is our family’s favorite time of year. For the McCormicks though it’s not just the Christmas season, but also hunting season. After Lillian and I left the weekend after Thanksgiving, Kathleen got to enjoy some time in the duck blind with her dad.

Friday was December 1st so I don’t think anyone can argue that is OFFICIALLY Christmas. Coco came! And Matt got outside lights up for me too. That was a good surprise to come home to

This weekend, Matt and I split up to get some one on one time with the girls. He and Kathleen went deer hunting (it’s a duck split)

They got two nice does to add to the freezer! While they were there, Lillian and I took Reese and Brynn to the Pam Burnside and Friends toy drive for the Gingerbread House at Doxology. I took the girls to dinner, and then took them home. About the time we got done with that, Koy got dropped off after his sister‘s dance recital to watch a Christmas movie.

On Saturday, Matt and I met in Plain Dealing and switched kids. He and Lillian went hunting.

And Kathleen came back and went to a birthday party for a gymnastics friend while I was in the Benton parade with the other agents on our team.

I was honestly really sad that neither one of them wanted to come, but I understood both of their reasons. The time that they get excited for things like that is so short.

The rest of the week and weekend has pretty much been spent getting to know this new puppy. She is doing great with housebreaking and getting along with the other dogs. She’s definitely a puppy, and we have a long way to go before she’s trained, but she’s sweet and we are having fun.
