Baton Rouge Trip
We made a quick trip to Baton Rouge for a weekend getaway and Lilli brought some friends. We got there Friday and met up with Michaelyn and Janet at an escape room. Me, Lilli, Katie, Brynn and Michaelyn had done them before but Janet, Koy and Justin were newbies. The kids wanted to do the “spooky” one and it happened to be the hardest one they had too. We did NOT escape, but it was super fun and we all want to go again.
From there, we checked into our hotel (I was with the girls and the boys had their own room) and then stopped by to see Nana. I picked the hotel next-door to her place to make it easy to visit.
We met the rest of the family at George’s for dinner
We always like going there because the food is good, you order at the counter, which makes paying with a crowd easy, and there’s an arcade for the kids to play around, when we want to talk for an hour and a half.
I got up early on Saturday and left all the kids asleep while I went next-door to Nana‘s place to visit with her for a few hours. And when I got done we headed home to get Cozy from Lyndi and to have a day at home. But of course we had to stop by and see Mike on the way out.
(She’s so much bigger than she was the day we got her!).
We will have to celebrate soon but we hope she had the BEST day!

From there, we went to the LSU gymnastics meet. It was just me with the 7 kids, and we had a great time! They definitely know how to put on a show. There’s fireworks, the band, cheerleaders, and it’s high energy the whole time. LSU won too so that made it even better!

Monday was Yaya’s birthday. The kids had school and the weather was gross so we didn’t get together, but we did have Matt surprise her with flowers, a balloon, a card and a cake from us.
We will have to celebrate soon but we hope she had the BEST day!
