Last Weekend
I’m trying to be better about updating my blog so that family can keep up with us and I have it to look back on, but I haven’t been doing a very good job. Last weekend started a little early with Koy’s Mom’s birthday party on that Thursday (the 8th- she and Capn have the same one!) Me, Matt and Lillian went but Katie was at gymnastics
That Friday was Night to Shine at Cypress Baptist. It’s a prom that is sponsored by Tim Tebow for kids with special needs. They do them all over the country, and it takes about 400 volunteers to put it together. Middle schoolers are the “paparazzi” and cheer for each person as they walk the red carpet.
Katie will be able to participate in that part next year, and Lillian and her friends will be inside with other high schoolers being the companions.
He doesn’t even know how much it meant to me that he came to keep me company and not only hang out with teenagers 😘
Sunday was The Forever Our Legacy gymnastics meet at the Shreveport Convention Center. Olympic gymnast, Mary Lou Retton, and her daughter, former LSU gymnast, McKenna Kelley, were both there as sponsors. Capn and Yaya came to watch and surprised us all. This meant so much to Katie, especially since she was competing DURING the Super Bowl (who plans this??)
She was 3rd all around and happy with it considering it was her first evening meet. She said she felt kind of off her game since we didn’t have our normal pre-meet routine, but she did great! We are proud of her no matter the score

The kids all wanted to do something different Saturday so me and Matt took them bowling at Surge. We played arcade games, bowled a game and ate a bunch of nachos and cheese fries 🤣
