All Moved In

We may still have quite a bit of unpacking to do but we are getting settled in. There’s enough done to where I don’t feel like I have to work all day and everything I need on a daily basis is in its spot. And I know we’ll get the rest done  eventually.

We’ve been here 3 nights and everyone is settled. The first night Katie slept on the floor of our room and Lilli was downstairs on the couch. No one even attempted their rooms. It’s definitely very different to all be so spread out and they were nervous. The 2nd night Lilli was in her room and Katie started out in hers but ended up in our bed. But by last night everyone made it all night on their own! I even got to drink coffee by myself for an hour this morning.

Our routine the last 4 days has been unpack a few hours after coffee and breakfast, a break for lunch and chill time, then about an hour and a half of school work. And the rest of the afternoon/evening spent in the pool. Lillian said it’s crazy that this is her life because she kind of feels like she’s on vacation.  They gave up some of that pool time yesterday to help Matt get his garden ready.

We’ve got peppers, tomato, lettuce and strawberries coming soon! The garden will eventually be probably 5x this size but he wanted to get something going considering we were moving in a little after planting time. Plus there’s plenty of work to be done at the deer camp.

Last Sunday we took a break from unpacking and spent the whole day up there working in the garden and cleaning the cabin

And then after all of that Matt sent Lillian down to the pond to catch some fish to put on the grill and she delivered!

The girls and I stayed home today to keep our same routine but he went up there to check on the garden and mow. It’s crazy how much they have grown in four days!
It’s a lot to do but everyone likes these projects to stay busy. I can’t wait to get to reap the rewards and have all the fresh produce to eat and can. Only 2 more weeks of “school” and then we can put the kids to work all day. 😊
