Happy Birthday Matt!!
Happy Birthday to the best Dad and husband our family could ask for. His favorite things in life are:
Hunting
Gardening and cooking/canning what comes out of the garden
And it’s all made even better since becoming a Dad and being able to share all of those things with his girls. They are definitely Daddy’s girls and will never be too big for his cuddles.
He is always so supportive of and sweet to me.
I was talking to Nana this morning and she said, “I love Matt. I know he’s a man and therefore can get on your nerves at times, 😉 (when you are 92 you can say what you want! Lol), but I really don’t think there’s anything major you’d change about him.” And so I racked my brain and she’s right! Now I’m not saying he’s perfect because no one is. But I do think he’s perfect for me.
We ate, visited and the kids swam. They were all here from about 10:00-1:30 and then we took a nap. Perfect 40th birthday party. 😉
(Lilli was my photographer so our only pic of her expect in the pool was the selfie. 🤣)
So today, the actual birthday, was more low key. The girls are at Aquarium camp from 9:00-4:00 all week
and I don’t even have to do the pick up because I’m doing drop off everyday. So Matt took a half a day so we could spend it together. We got massages and then came home to a quiet house which is exactly what we wanted after the last few weeks. I picked up steamed king crab legs from Kroger for dinner
And we had brownie sundaes instead of birthday cake.

So we have spent the last few days celebrating HIM. He rolls his eyes because he’s never made a big deal about birthdays but I know it meant a lot to him that people came to celebrate. While Shanon and Alex were here over the weekend, his Mom and Dad, and Cara, Luke and Josie came over for a brunch party. We had shrimp and grits, French toast casserole, a charcuterie board, yogurt buffet and pastries. And of course mimosas and bloody marys. With a red velvet nothing bundt cake for dessert.

I think I enjoyed his birthday as much as he did! Happy Birthday Matt! We hope today was exactly what you wanted and we can’t wait to spend the next 40 years with you. ❤️
