President’s Day Break

We’re back to routine today after a 4 day weekend. (Matt says he feels like they never go to school!) Monday was President’s Day and they were out yesterday for a teacher in-service. Saturday we celebrated Valentine’s Day again with our first date night since hunting season. 

We had a delicious dinner at Superior Steakhouse and the kids had fun playing with Ragan. Everyone was happy.

Monday I let them have a play date with some friends. I had five kids in my house (The neighbor joined too) for about six hours and it was a great way to spend the day out of school.

Tuesday was pretty boring (to them) with a dentist appointment, delivering Girl Scout cookies and then some showings. But it was nice to have some time at home and such a long holiday.

Not related, but Lillian’s Art Workz teacher posted pictures on Facebook yesterday. We love this class because she does so many different things and never gets bored. She’s been very busy! I think all of these are since Christmas.

I hate that she has to miss this week because of her extra DI practice today but we have to get ready for the big state competition on Saturday! They never slow down.

I think someone may be a little spoiled....

  So Lilli has been sick the last two days with a croup cough.  She's had fever and the cough has been nasty so Mom has been making her stay in.  I think she is getting a little stir crazy and decided what she wanted to do instead.  It started when I told her we were going to see Yaya for lunch tomorrow.  Yaya is being so sweet and going to entertain her for a bit while I get my hair cut and then we'll grab some lunch.  I know someone that will be excited to get out of the house but especially to see her Yaya!

Summertime!

Yesterday was Bossier’s last day of school, but we’ve been in summer mode since they got done LEAP testing a couple of weeks ago. It’s honestly so dumb that they had 10 days of school after testing because they did NOTHING. There was a whole lot of movie watching and playing on computers. On top of the fact that grades were due over a week ago, so it’s not like there was much they could have done. We stayed out on school nights, had pool days and skipped half days to hang with Pops, or friends or just to bake.  Katie had her awards and field day last Wednesday. She ended the year with Straight A’s and a member of National Honor Society. It was so fun to watch her compete in field day events and get to meet some more of her school friends too I checked Katie, Madison and Britney out of school when it was over, and they spent the afternoon in the pool and then we all (with Koy and Lil) went to Josie’s Tball game that night. Bar-J and More Baseball

For Christmas last year, Pops and Honey gave his 3 daughters and 4 granddaughters a weekend at a “dude ranch” for a gift. We picked the weekend because it was Anna and Piper’s spring break and it’s harder for Anna to miss school as a Junior than the other 3. The weather couldn’t have been anymore perfect and the timing worked out perfectly for us to celebrate Allie’s 40th birthday on the 4th too. They came in Thursday and Matt grilled steaks for her actual bday. I didn’t get one picture that night but it was a nice evening. The next morning, we got up and drove to El Dorado to the ranch. It was the “rancher’s experience” and we got in 3 rides, plus the kids got to help care for all the animals Dad has his own cabin and all 7 girls were in a bunk room together.
