1. What is the Coronavirus?
Katie: is a virus that people can catch thatā€™s not like the stomach bug- more like the flu 
Lilli: a virus spread by people sneezing and coughing that travels in the air

2. Who is the President?
Katie:Donald Trump
Lilli: Donald Trump

3. How many days have we been in lockdown?
Katie: 34
Lilli: I donā€™t know- Iā€™ve lost track 

4. Do you want to go back to school?
Katie: yes
Lilli: yes! Please!! 

5. Who is the first person you are going to hug when lockdown is over?
Katie: Austin
Lilli: Austin, Josey, Case and Lane

6. Where is the first place you want to go?
Katie: my cousins house 
Lilli: The beach

7. What do you think we can do to make the coronavirus go away?
Katie: everybody stay in lockdown 
Lilli: Wear mask, stay home and donā€™t go out to help the people that work at hospitals not have to take care of so many people 

8. Is Mama a good teacher?
Katie: yes 
Lilli: umm.... you havenā€™t really taught me, I just do my work 

9. If you had to wear protective clothing to help you, what would it be?
Katie: a mask 
Lilli: mask and gloves 

10. Are you enjoying the lockdown?
Katie: sort of 
Lilli: NO!!! 

11. What is the best thing about having to stay home? 
Katie: I get to stay with my Mom, my Dad and my sister 
Lilli: I donā€™t have to do much everyday 

12. What is the first entertainment place youā€™d like to go to?
Katie: Eat in a restaurant 
Lilli: the movies 

I asked them these questions unprompted on Monday morning. This will probably be entertaining to read one day. I hope one day in the relatively near future it can be a memory.

Last Day of Summer

Thatā€™s a wrap. Summer 2019 is done and tonight is a school night. Itā€™s been a great one. We went to the beach, Did lots of swimming, spent time with all of the cousins. But itā€™s time to go back and they are excited. We had Shaleigh and Lily over and went to the pool for a few hours. They had it to themselves and it was fun to spend several hours swimming and getting in one last day of play. It was also meet the teacher. Katie has Mrs. Wilhelm (top) but she is still on maternity leave until Labor Day. So for the next month she has Mrs. Huckabee who she knows because she subs and she had her several times in kindergarten. Both of Lillianā€˜s teachers are new to Apollo this year so we are not sure what to expect but they seemed very nice. Mrs. Winans is her homeroom and then she switches for math and science. Itā€™s a welcome change to only have two teachers this year. Three teachers in third grade was a little much and in fact theyā€™re not even doing that anymore. Back to school also means ba...

Summertime!

Yesterday was Bossierā€™s last day of school, but weā€™ve been in summer mode since they got done LEAP testing a couple of weeks ago. Itā€™s honestly so dumb that they had 10 days of school after testing because they did NOTHING. There was a whole lot of movie watching and playing on computers. On top of the fact that grades were due over a week ago, so itā€™s not like there was much they could have done. We stayed out on school nights, had pool days and skipped half days to hang with Pops, or friends or just to bake.  Katie had her awards and field day last Wednesday. She ended the year with Straight Aā€™s and a member of National Honor Society. It was so fun to watch her compete in field day events and get to meet some more of her school friends too I checked Katie, Madison and Britney out of school when it was over, and they spent the afternoon in the pool and then we all (with Koy and Lil) went to Josieā€™s Tball game that night. I think someone may be a little spoiled....

  So Lilli has been sick the last two days with a croup cough.  She's had fever and the cough has been nasty so Mom has been making her stay in.  I think she is getting a little stir crazy and decided what she wanted to do instead.  It started when I told her we were going to see Yaya for lunch tomorrow.  Yaya is being so sweet and going to entertain her for a bit while I get my hair cut and then we'll grab some lunch.  I know someone that will be excited to get out of the house but especially to see her Yaya!
