Almost Normal
The whole McCormick family stayed at the deer camp together for the first time since probably Christmas of 2019. We had seen each other of course but this was the first time to all be under one roof with no one talking about social distancing.
These kids were the most excited and talked about it for days and days. They love being together and play so hard that we barely see them while we’re there. But that’s ok because it had been a LONG time since I’d had some girl time.
Matt and Josh boiled crawfish Saturday afternoon and they were delicious! Crawfish boils are one of my favorite things about spring and the family time made it all that much better. I hope this is the start of many more times like this for the year.
We came home Sunday and on Monday the girls went to stay with Josh and Hailey for the night. We had done school that morning and met Lily Jordan for Happy Belly’s custard and Hailey came to pick them up after. They had the best time with the cousins again and got to enjoy even more time together during spring break.
Even though we are still being safe- wearing our masks in public, not going to huge events, we haven’t even eaten in a restaurant yet- it FEELS different. It’s like a weight has been lifted since Matt had his 2nd shot and now that I’ve started the series too. We’re going to let Katie go back to in-person gymnastics and Lily Jordan is spending the night Thursday. I figure if Nana’s assisted living facility is letting her out after her 2nd shot it’s probably ok for us too. 😉
She got to go to church and leave her apartment for something other than a doctors appointment for the first time in a year. And we’ll get to go to a family dinner with her Easter weekend! I’ll say it again, 2021 is looking better!

I had to pick them up early this morning to take Katie to allergy shots and for their first horseback riding lesson. The lady that owns the Party Barn and her 16 year old daughter have started giving lessons and we plan to start weekly. Not sure what our day will be since today was daytime because of spring break but they are looking forward to learning!
