Dove Hunting 2021

Man, it’s been almost 2 weeks since I’ve posted and I didn’t realize. I guess we haven’t had too much going on. We were supposed to be in Baton Rouge last weekend going to Piper’s birthday party at a water park.

But Hurricane Ida got in the way so we decided to stay home. Katie had a sleepover with Landry instead but we mostly had a quiet weekend.
The school week was normal. Katie and I had school of course. She’s loving her team development gymnastics class and really improving on some skills. And Lillian had her first middle school social event when she went out to eat with some friends for a birthday dinner.

The “field trip Friday” for me and Katie was a quick trip to Andy’s after picking up groceries for Matt to take to the camp. When Lillian started school she said the only thing she’d miss was the random daytime treats we would get so I promised to always bring one home for her to have after school ❤️

But the main highlight of the last 2 weeks has DEFINITELY been the weekend hunting trip. Matt and the girls were there, as well as Capn, Shanon, Luke, Chad, Austin, Josh and Case. They have really been looking forward to the time with their cousins and love hunting with Matt. Matt said Lillian shot AT her first bird and is getting pretty good with her shotgun.

They sure have grown up since last year! Yesterday was a full day and they went out again this morning. They were on their way home by about 10:00 and Matt said they were both asleep by Bradley.

It was a good thing they got a little nap because they were only home about 2 1/2 hours before Heather picked them up for Bella’s birthday sleepover. She waited to do it till today since the girls were gone last night but when Katie got home she did NOT want to go. She was tired and grumpy but as you can see,

She definitely changed her mind. I did warn Heather to  tell the other girls to just let her go to sleep at 8 tonight if she’s ready and knowing her, I’m sure she will. Because even through they are tired, they are happy to be getting the time with their friends. It also means Matt and I have another night alone, but after his weekend, I bet he has an 8:00 bedtime too. 😉
