Still Christmas-ing

The Christmas fun continued last weekend even after Pancakes with Santa. On Sunday evening we met Cara, Luke and Josie at Christmas in Roseland for our annual visit to those lights. It was Britney and Bella’s last Sunday night with us (no more chemo for Heather!) and we brought Landry and Kaylee along too so there were 6 kids in my car. A pretty typical day for me. 😉

Josie got to meet some of the kids that would be at our party so that worked perfectly to where she wasn’t shy last night. Katie and I spent the week getting ready. We cleaned the house, shopped and made all of the games. (There was some school in there too but definitely not as much as a normal week 😉)

Of course Lillian was at school during most of our work time, and she went hunting with Matt Friday afternoon and yesterday morning.

Never having a day to sleep in during hunting season is catching up to her. 😁

We met in Plain Dealing for lunch again and came back home to rest before setting up. The party went from 6:00-10:00 but these middle schoolers started showing up about 5:15. 😳 They were irritated with me that I was making them get ready so early but good thing I did! We ended up having 14- 6th graders (and 5 of them were boys!-her first boy/girl party), 3- 3rd graders and Josie who fit right in with them. Most of the big kid stuck with outside (Lily Jordan and Bridget preferred to play with Katie and her friends) and the younger ones played upstairs, but they did all come in for food, the hot chocolate bar and games

Lillian kind of rolled her eyes at my game room but they played them all and had a blast with the Saran Wrap ball game. It was very loud! 😉

My friends and I had a cookie swap and I didn’t get one picture of the cookies, but we had 10 different types and everyone brought at least 3 dozen. I put some on trays for the kids and had ours separate so their hands weren’t in all of them, lol. And everyone went home with a huge box of goodies.

Kelli won an ornament for “tastiest” (we had the kids vote) and Christy won a filled Christmas candy dish for “most festive”. We all pretty much stayed around the bar visiting the whole time and had a lot of fun too. The last kid was picked up about 10:15 and I could not go to sleep with the way my house looked. After the inch of rain the night before there was mud all over my floor so I cleaned until about midnight and then was out. It was nice to not have to wake up to it this morning. I think it went really well and this may have to become an annual thing.
