Another Season Come and Gone

Yesterday was the last day of hunting season and it will definitely go down as a season to remember. Lillian had so many “firsts” and this past weekend was no different. She got her first mallard and gadwall and she had a very proud Daddy and Capn when she did!

She was super sad it’s over but said she’s looking forward to sleeping in too. 😉 She was asleep at 8:00 last night! I don’t know that a lot of 12 year olds, girls especially, would choose hunting over time with friends but it was definitely her priority and she learned so much.

We are proud parents for that, and the Straight A honor roll she made for the first semester. I don’t think I’d posted about that yet but she got this a couple of weeks ago.

Katie and I had a good weekend too. We went to Risen Rock with Landry and she came over to spend the night after.

She is still loving homeschooling and says she wants to continue another year. We are waiting a little bit longer before we commit to buying a curriculum, but I can see why she likes it.

Reading upside down, “teaching” her cat, looking at ocean creatures in VR as I read about them, Altitude trampoline park during the day…. What kid wouldn’t rather that than a classroom? I know the day is coming that she will decide she wants to spend her day with friends, but for now we are both still taking advantage of this time. ❤️
