Great Wolf Lodge
Rachel and I started talking months ago about how we are tired of spending so much on 2 hour birthday parties our kids probably won't even remember. She had the great idea to start putting that in to "experiences" instead. I asked Lilli how she would feel about not having a "friend party" this year and going to Great Wolf Lodge for her and Austin's birthdays instead. She jumped on it! And I think both birthday kids were happy with their decision!
We loaded up Saturday morning and got on the road to Grapevine, TX for a super fun weekend.
I was hoping they might nap on the way but that was a joke! They were too excited and must have asked 100 times how much longer. It was worth the wait!
We spent all of Saturday afternoon either in the water park
Lazy river
I took Katie down the yellow slide a bunch. She wasn't ever scared but I was at first. Lilli was behind us the first time and said, "I heard Katie screaming," I said, "No, that was me." :)
Yaya was more than happy to be on baby duty. He had fun when he was awake too. :)
Or in our room for the birthday party. I didn't really get any pictures but it was complete with cake, presents and a piñata.
After pizza for dinner Rachel and I took our 4 down to the dance party and story time. (Case and Lane were worn out and asleep before it started :) They had so much fun and we even enjoyed it. The guy was really funny.
Or maybe that was because of the wine we brought with us
The next morning was more story time
And the Arcade
Before a few more hours in the water park. We did the late check-out so that we could stay until 2:00 and even had time for a burger lunch together before we left
It was a great weekend that we will remember forever. Thanks to Yaya for making it happen! And I must say, it was a lot more fun than a couple hours at Chuck E. Cheese. What are we doing next year? :)
