First Week of Summer
We sure have enjoyed our first week of no alarms and no real plans. The flower beds and gardens are showing signs of summer. I’ve managed to keep my hydrangeas alive
And the blackberries are starting to ripen
And we’ve enjoyed the fruits of Matt’s (and Capn’s) garden. We found out a couple of weeks ago that Landry’s Dad got a job in Ft. Worth so they will be moving soon. Her Mom and I have been busy getting the house ready to list while she and Kathleen have tried to get in as much time together as we will allow.
They are the sweetest little besties and they are really going to miss each other. They try to have play dates as often as possible, see each other at church and even play soccer together. They had their last game last weekend
And Landry’s parents hosted a pool party for the team after. Kathleen says now that Landry won’t be here to play with, she thinks her soccer career is over. That’s ok though because she won’t have time for it anyway now that she’s made the gymnastics team!
They work out for 4 hours a week and travel to meets in a 4 state area. She has worked so hard all year to learn the skills necessary. Even Lillian squealed and hugged her when she got home and told her congratulations because she knew how bad she wanted it. I told her I appreciated the “appropriate response” because Katie was saying in the car how she thought Lilli’s response would only be an (unemotional) “cool.” 😉
We are also starting a whole new adventure this summer when we get back from the beach… chickens! Lillian finally convinced Matt (he had been seriously considering anyway) and we ordered the coop
We will get it set up with a chicken yard and then get our chickens sometime in the next few weeks. At this point it doesn’t even matter. we have a zoo already! 🤪 More on that adventure to come!
