Somebody Has Been Busy
These last couple of months have been a whirlwind. I started my job on the 3rd day of school, and about a week later softball started. It’s been a crazy schedule of Tuesday/Thursday softball games for Lil and gym for Katie. Plus MWF softball practices. I think we’ve been home before 830 maybe a total of five weeknights in that whole time. I’ve switched Katie to homeschool videos because we were constantly interrupted by work calls and the schedule was too much to keep up. It was a little adjustment, but I’m still very involved and it’s freed up some time to add back in walks, and park days, and the fun stuff we had been missing. On my slow days I still teach, but I like the backup. Yesterday was the last game of the season and we hope our lives calm down. We will still have private softball lessons and gym days, but our nights won’t be so late.
She could forgive him for missing that one since he was on this amazing trip with his Dad, brothers and friends. They had a great 5 day trip to Canada and killed almost 400 ducks and geese between the people at the camp. It looks absolutely beautiful but he always comes back and enjoys the beauty of the family place too
And in his “spare time” he has put in about 15 hours in the last few weeks getting our chicken run predator proofed. We lost 3 to hawks, but we now have a cover and the hawks are no longer hanging around
My Papa was famous for saying “a busy person is a happy person.” He was a pretty smart man, so by this logic, we are all elated all of the time. đŸ˜‰ I may be joking by that, but this season of life has been a good one. Despite the crazy schedules, I hope to stay a softball and gymnastics Mom for a long tome!
Lilli is really going to miss it though. She’ll play again in the spring and try out for the school team, but she made some good friends and loved every second of the season. Even though Matt is crazy busy himself and usually not home before us, he never missed one of Lilli’s games except for the one he was out of the country.
