Passing the Torch
Today marked my last day as Chair of the Popcorn and Pickle Fundraiser and there were definitely some mixed emotions. I love doing something that supports the school in a big way. (It’s PTL’s biggest money maker) but its a lot of work and hours put in to something that comes up monthly. I’m ready to focus more on real estate and move on so I found someone willing to take it over next year. I’m sure I’ll still volunteer but it will be nice to not HAVE to be there.
The kids were kind of upset when I told them. They like getting up there early and having the run of the school. But not having to be there at 6:45 will be nice too!
And tonight was so fun. My neighbor planned a food truck night for the neighborhood and the turn out was amazing! We were supposed to have two with one in our driveway and one in hers but one canceled last minute so it was just hers. So many people came that the line was 30 minutes long!
We’re going to try to do it monthly and will definitely need that 2nd truck. There was music, the kids played and danced, and the neighbors talked for hours. Katie was out within minutes of being home. It’s so nice that the weather wasn’t miserable. It’s been cold and wet for months so we needed some time outside!

The school has started a new thing called positive referrals where kids get sent to the Vice-Principal for doing good things. Katie got to call me from school to tell me she had been selected. So proud of her! Lillian has always gotten so many recognitions that I was worried what would happen if Katie wasn’t that kind of student. Turns out there was no need to worry! They each get recognized in their own ways.
