Sleepover Memories
I remember sleepovers as a kid. Staying up late and giggling all night. Our kids are getting about to that age and I want the same memories for them so we had our first (non-family) one last night. Well, I say our first one. Actually Lillian‘s third and Katie‘s first. But the other two for Lillian were just late playdates that turned into impromptu sleepovers. One at Sophie Stinson‘s house and once we had Aubrey here. They both ended pretty early the next morning. This was the first planned one with multiple kids.
It worked! It didn’t get them to sleep early but they were happy to play in bedrooms and watch movies. We picked up a Chick-fil-A tray on the way home which they devoured in about six minutes. (Going to need a medium next time!) Then it was playing and also we rented Ralph Breaks the Internet complete with popcorn and brownie sundaes.
About 10 o’clock I said it was time for bed and I think the last one was asleep about 10:45.
By 6:30 all 5 were back up giggling in their rooms and by 7 o’clock they were eating donuts.
Their moms picked them up around 11:00 and I cleaned up and then crashed on the couch. Even the animals were tired!
Not that I’m happy she was upset, but one of them even cried when their mom got here because she really didn’t want to leave. I guess that means they had fun and I’d say it was a successful sleepover!
It started at Altitude. Partially because they love it and partially a premeditated plan to have them a little worn out and not running around like crazy.
