Piper Had A Birthday

It’s been since Lilli was in preschool that we’ve made it down to Baton Rouge for Piper’s Birthday. It’s always the beginning of the school year and also the week before a 3 day weekend so we usually wait. They ALWAYS come for our girls bday though and all Piper wanted was a few friends and her cousins so we checked out of school Friday and made the trip.

Friday night was the family party and even though I only got pics of sisters and cousins, the whole extended family was also there. Piper HATES being the center of attention and didn’t even want us to sing but this family didn’t know how to have cake without it, lol. You can see her rolling her eyes in the top pic 🙄😂. Lala brought a baby squirrel she was bottle feeding until she can release it and that was the highlight of the night. We had to convince her to put it down to open her presents!!

Saturday morning we went to Nana’s house for French toast. It’s her signature breakfast and she has decided to move out of the house she has shared with Jimmy and Theresa the last 2.5 years and go back to The Haven. She wanted to cook for her grandchildren in her kitchen one last time.

She’s still doing well but she knows it’s time to quit driving and the only places she really goes for socializing are there and the church. This way she’ll be with her friends and doctors, hairdressers etc. come to her. She’s happy with her decision and I hope she’s happy there.

Saturday afternoon was the birthday party. It was just the cousins and two other friends plus me, Nana, Lizard and Lala went.

She didn’t have a party room or anything because she didn’t want her name called over the loudspeaker but they played for hours and went back to her house for pizza, cake and ice cream and a sleepover. I met Jimmy, Theresa, Dad, Janet, Nana and Lizard for dinner and then went back to get KJ to stay with me. She spent the night Friday and there were lots of tears for me at bedtime so we decided to not try Saturday. She was happy with that decision as we crawled in bed. 😊 We had to be up early to get on the road to make it home for me to go to a listing appointment but it was a fun weekend. I was glad to spend time with my sisters and the cousins had not seen each other since cousin camp so they were happy too. In 6 weeks we will all be together again for the girls 1st LSU football game! That’s a great time of year to be in Baton Rouge!
