16 Years!
Man, where does the time go? In some ways it feels like we were just on that beach saying “I Do,” but in other ways it’s seems like a lifetime ago. We sure were different people then and I’m fortunate to have found someone who I truly love unconditionally and loves me back. And that CHOOSES everyday to stay that way.
It was a pretty normal day. Matt and Lillian were up and out early and Katie and I had school this morning. She and I had our first “Field Trip Friday” that I’m going to try to make a thing. She chose Sci-Port and we really enjoyed it. It had been years and it was the first time I’d gone with my teacher hat on and was able to tie it in to lessons we did this week. And a plus for me is there was no one there. We literally saw maybe 4 other families and there was only one time we were in the same room with one. That’s a good thing for Covid times, and I also got to really focus on her. We saw an IMAX on asteroid hunters and checked out all the exhibits. We used to go all the time but she barely remembered it so it was cool it was new to her.
This evening was normal too. Matt and I had agreed to no gifts but he told me he was having a hard time not even getting flowers. I asked him to please not do that so he and Katie picked a beautiful bouquet from the garden and I love it more than anything he could have bought.
I cooked dinner, cleaned the kitchen, did laundry… but tomorrow we will celebrate when the girls go spend the night with Yaya and Capn. And this weekend is exactly what I wanted. There comes a point when you realize you don’t need the fuss, and acknowledging the day and spending it together is more than enough. Love you Matt!
