Mini Me!

Image
This first picture is of me at 2 years old holding my little sister (notice the teddy bear).  This 2nd picture is of Lilli today.  She also has a "Teddy." It is not the same one that was my favorite as a child but it is about 30 years old.  Everyone always tells me she looks just like me but I can really see it today. And here is a picture of her in the backyard today.  I did not ask her to pose for this.  The other is me and Matt in Mexico last year.  Anyone that knows us well knows that Matt and I are definitely beach people.  We can sit in a chair looking at the ocean all day and not get bored.  Looks like she's a child after our own heart! Really looking forward to our beach vacation in a month!

Not much new... Just wanted to share this picture

This was my "daily pic" from a few days ago.  For those of you that don't know, I send out a picture of Lilli to 18 of her closest admirers everyday. :)  It started out as just going to her grandmas and Dad when she was first born but as other people heard about it, they asked to be included in the daily text. She hates it, and I know I won't be able to do it forever, but I'm going to keep it up as long as she cooperates.  I thought this dress was too cute on her and her outfit was complete when she asked me to put her hair in pig tails.  I made her a deal that I would do her hair if she would actually smile for her pic that day.  Oh how I wish my camera was back from being repaired and I could have gotten a better one but it's still one of my favorites even thought it's only camera phone quality.  Not much new at our house this week.  We had a nice visit with Pops on Monday and a pretty uneventful week other than that.  Matt was in a sporting clay t

Happy Birthday Granna!

Image
Happy Birthday to my wonderful Mom!  She would have been 61 today.  If you read my blog around my birthday, you know that my family has always made a big deal out of each one and today is no different.  Even though she is not here to celebrate with us, I am still cooking one of her favorite meals that I make and of course there is cake.  Lilli is excited that she'll get to blow out the candle.  Pops will be here soon to celebrate with us too.  You are truly missed, Mom, but I hope you and Papa are having a glass of wine and saying a toast to the day.  We'll be doing the same.  We love you!

2012 Barksdale Air Force Show

Image
I have lived in Bossier City for 5 years now and have always wanted to go to the Air Force Show.  Every year something else had been going on so I was excited when I realized it was this weekend. It's definitely something to see!  We knew it was a big deal but had no idea just how big until today.  We left the house about 1:30 and finally parked the car at a little after 3.  Then we had about a mile walk to where the air show was going on.  At one point Matt looked at me and said "you know I really love you right?" Haha, I know he does. :) We heard there were around 100,000 people there so he wouldn't have normally suggested to spend the day in that kind of traffic and crowd but I think he was glad we went.  Lilli was really excited about it but did get a little scared when they flew over us.  It got really loud! Matt introduced her to funnel cake The weather was perfect to spend the afternoon outside with our family.  We thought the show was rea

Mama Night

Image
Daddy's on a (work related) fishing trip, Lilli is sleeping like a baby, so what is Mama doing.... And a chick flick. Going to enjoy this night!  But Lilli and I are both ready for tomorrow when Matt gets home. Only 2 nights this time but we still miss him!

Yay! It's a Chuck E Cheese Day!

Image
Lilli has asked me at least 20 times this week to go to Chuck E Cheese. I finally gave in last night and told her I would take her today. When I walked in to her room this morning the first thing she said to me was "Yay, it's a Chuck E. Cheese Day!"

Fun Weekend with the Baton Rouge Family

Image
Lilli and I went down to Baton Rouge this weekend to visit our family down South. We have 17 members that live between Alexandria and New Orleans but most of them are in Baton Rouge. We saw almost every one of them this weekend. The family gatherings started immediately when we got in Thursday because Pops treated everyone to pizza. Then Friday morning we got up and Me, Lilli, Pops, Nana, Peggy, Jen, Anna and Piper all headed to the zoo. Lilli loves the zoo (ok, you caught me, I do too!) but really had a blast with her cousins there.  The giraffes are Lilli's favorite Saturday was full of fun from beginning to end. We started the morning by going to watch my nephew, Daniel's, soccer game. It was only the 2nd time I'd had a chance to go so was really glad to get to do it. He's in white He is a very good player and it was so fun to get to watch.  The morning was beautiful too so it was really nice to be outside. After lunch we headed downt

Easter Weekend at the Lake

Image
We had a wonderful weekend at the lake with our family for Easter. Cap'n has been on his boat for the last few months and we hadn't seen Austin, Chad and Rachel since he was 3 days old. This was Lilli's first time to meet him. It was so nice to relax and be together. Lilli got to hunt eggs twice on Saturday.  She couldn't walk at Easter last year so she's really just experiencing this for the first time this year.  She loved it.  Showing her eggs to Daddy Of course she had to show Cha Cha and "Baby Austin" too  We boiled crawfish for dinner before we all left to go on a boat ride.  Always so good! I love this time of year! This morning Lilli was up at the crack of dawn to see what the Easter bunny had brought her.  I think she was pleasantly surprised.  And of course he had left a few more eggs outside for one more hunt. In their bunny outfits. Aren't they too cute! We left a little after 9:00

Rain makes perfect sleeping weather

Image
I guess this is life in "tornado alley." Here is a picture I took of Lilli some time last year: Safely in the hallway during a storm with a tornado watch. She was asleep when the storm hit and stayed asleep when I moved her. And here is one I got from Rachel today when the tornadoes were going through Dallas. Sleeping in Mom's arms How nice it must  be to be a baby and know that Mom and Dad are there to take care of you.  Not a care in the world! I've heard from all of our family and Dallas and everyone is safe.  We are very thankful for that and bracing for this storm to make it's way to us.  We may have another hall picture by the time the night is over but let's pray we don't.
