Mardi Gras Cousins

Image
Last weekend was the best weekend we’ve had around the house in awhile. We got to have some fun cousin time when Austin and Josey came in during their 4 day winter break. Rachel and Chad had business stuff to do and started working on cleaning out her parents’ house, so we got to have a sleepover. We met Hailey and Yaya for lunch, and then Hay and I took 5 kids to Altitude. (Bossier wasn’t out Friday so Lil had to miss out on that part) Hailey and the boys had plans that night, but A&J stayed the night with us. We ordered pizza, they hung out, and all 4 of them even played together at times. The after dark, outside hide and seek was the favorite. Saturday morning we tried to go to Lane’s game but it was canceled last minute. So instead it was bowling, lunch and games at Surge  We went back to the house to play for a bit, and then dropped them off to Chad and Rachel about 4:00. We are always sad to see them go, but it was nice to get some rest before the full day of Mardi Gras the n

“Craig Family” Camp Weekend

Camp weekend 2023 was a definite success! It was the first time since Covid that we were all up there at once. Jen, Ryan and the girls came for New Years a little over a year ago, Dad and Allie came for her birthday last year, and we had plans to do a family weekend last year, but me and Lilli got Covid and had to cancel. Unfortunately Allie was working this time, but it was nice to get our tradition back going.  They all got there Friday evening in time for dinner and we ate, hung out and played games Saturday morning was COLD after the rain on Friday so the adults pretty much just hung around drinking coffee, but it didn’t stop the girls from making some miles in the bottoms after breakfast  Around noon it had warmed up enough to brave it awhile so we went outside and shot skeet and targets for a couple of hours  Lilli and Anna both celebrated big birthdays this year so of course we had to celebrate one more time.  I made a “selfie scavenger hunt” that they loved  Kathleen and Piper

No Rest For Our Hunters

I didn’t make my end of the season post last week, but it’s wrapped up for another year. It was a dreary, rainy one so they didn’t have a packed blind, but Matt and Lillian got in their last hunts. They are always disappointed, but ready for some rest too. Historically the first weekend of February is a do nothing weekend, but our gymnastics schedule had other ideas.  We got to Baton Rouge on Friday and the whole family came over to Dad’s for dinner before going to the LSU gymnastics meet. It didn’t start until 8:00 so that was a late night for us!  We had NO IDEA what kind of following they have and what kind of production it was. The P-Mac was full and there were fireworks, a band, cheerleaders… the crowd had a 1st down type cheer every time they stuck a landing. I loved watching Kathleen almost as much as I liked the meet. And we got to see a Perfect 10 floor routine.  We got up Saturday morning and went to Nana’s to visit. Lizard took the girls to her friends farm to see baby goats
