Back to School

We have officially made it through the first full week of school and it’s going well so far. The first day was Thursday, August 10th, and it was nice there were only 2 days to start to ease us into it. I did really well as we were getting ready that morning, and thought I would be ok, but I starting bawling before I was even out of the parking lot and couldn’t stop for over an hour. I laughed at myself because I knew in my head I was being ridiculous, but the tears didn’t get the message for awhile. It was the first time since Covid lockdown that they were both in school, and my heart hurt at the thought of them being gone so much. I teared up on and off the rest of the day, but it definitely made it better when they got home and had had a good day. I got to go out with the gymnastics Moms that night to celebrate Melissa’s birthday and was feeling better by then We haven’t seen Shanon, Alex and the boys nearly enough lately and he texted me a couple of weeks ago to find a weekend befor

It’s A School Night 😩

At the beginning of the summer, there always seems like there will be so much time to do lots of things together and we won’t even know what to do to fill it up. And then before we know it, it’s the first day of school eve and I’m wishing for more time. It happens every year, and even when they were homeschooling, I wished for the days of all play and no work, but that’s not life, and the day is here. We have spent the last few days getting first day ready. They got their hair done, nails done and eyebrows waxed. We did some last minute shopping and saw one last movie this morning before we met their teachers today  They are both excited and ready. Katie’s friend, Madison, is in her class and we are both thankful for that. She will have 4 teachers, but the class moves together all day so she will make friends quickly. Lilli and Maddi have no classes together, but will ride to BPSTIL for their first two classes of the day. Lilli’s very first class of the year will be her agriculture cla

Summer is Almost Over

Summer is almost done. When they go back to school in 6 days, it will be the first time in 3 1/2 years that both girls will be in school for a full day together and I’m dreading it. I know I’ll adjust quickly, but in the over 13 years I’ve been a Mom, there have only been 14 months of them gone that much and I prefer to have them here! I truly hope they both love their teachers, make lots of new friends and love the year, but I’m trying to make the most of the last of the time I have this summer.  We saw the Barbie movie Lilli had friends over for a pool and movie night (with another one planned tonight) Katie has had her friends over too We got to celebrate Kelli as she graduated from PTA (physical therapy assistant) school. She has been working hard the last 2 years and we are proud of her! Chad and Rachel went to Mexico for a trip alone, and the cousins went to Yaya and Capn’s. They wanted them alone (because let’s be honest, you can’t visit with kids when they are with their cousin
