Happy Halloween 2017

Image
Another Halloween for the books! And it was one of my favorite yet. We went really early (5:30) because it was going to storm and we wanted to beat it. We were the first ones out but Hermione (from Harry Potter) and the police officer didn't mind  We made the block including the two cul-de-sacs and were home by 6:15 with FULL buckets of candy. Perfect timing because it was starting to sprinkle. They pigged out on candy between "customers" where they gave out HUGE handfuls of candy so that we could be the "good house." Between that, one last watch of "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and the fact that they were still in bed at 8:00, I'd say it was a great night for everyone involved. Happy Halloween!  And I had an extra special day because I got to do this I loved on Oliver while Tiffany was with Max for a test. I got lots of baby snuggles and the best part? He went home with her! :)

We've Been Halloweening

Image
Ok, I know that "Halloweening" isn't technically a word but that's what we've been doing this weekend! It started Saturday morning with Apollo's fall fest We picked up Aubrey and brought her with us to give Tiffany and Cameron a little bit of a break (well as much of a break as still having 3 kids is;) It was fun and the best part was I signed up to volunteer but they had so many Airline Beta Club volunteers they didn't need me. Then Saturday night we went to a Halloween party at the Garcias house (Britney's family) Her Mom had EVERY inch of that house decorated and everyone had a great time. The adults sat inside and talked while the kids ran around outside for hours.  Matt had the girls all day while I worked and they got in some pumpkin carving.  Lilli did one all by herself for the first time. (The one on the left) and I think she did a great job! And then after my showings and open house, it was Asbury's Trunk or Treat We went with the Kittler

Dad of the Year

Image
It's red ribbon week at Apollo and today's theme was successful people don't do drugs. The kids are all supposed to dress up as their goal job. Lilli has been saying all week that she was going to be a vet and we thought we had a dress-up doctors outfit she could wear. Well, 6 o'clock last night rolls around and we realize we either don't have it or we can't find it. So she was going to have to wear just a uniform. That's when dad of the year stepped in and made her a shirt with the vet logo at 8 o'clock at night. I think he did a great job!  The girls (and me!) are lucky to have you Matt! 😘

It's A Girl!

Image
What do you do when your best friend of 16 years asks you to keep the biggest secret of her life yet she hates surprises? You lie! :) I went with Cara to her doctor's appointment on Thursday for her gender ultrasound. She decided months ago that she wanted to have a gender reveal party and she asked me to be the one that knew. This was crazy to me because Cara HATES surprises but if that's what she wants... so I get the envelope and IMMEDIATELY the texts from both her and Luke start. She wanted a girl so bad and said she needed to be prepared if it was a boy so she didn't cry in front of all her family. But I knew they would try and try to break me, so I lied and said I hadn't looked in the envelope and was not planning to until it was time to reveal. When in reality I didn't even make it out of the doctors office. I opened that envelope as soon as I turned a corner away from her. And I'm glad she didn't watch because my smile would have given it away. I was

Logan's First Trip To The Camp

Image
(Sorry Shanon and Alex, we love y'all but now that Logan is here, you know this post is going to be about him.) Logan got to make his first trip to Arkansas this weekend to spend some time at the camp. He is the cutest baby and so sweet. I don't think I ever heard him cry.  The girls love playing with him and I was so happy to get a chance to love on him. I got to swing him to sleep twice and that 2nd time I just let him nap in my arms. We're going to miss him when he goes home today but I'm glad we'll be going to Houston in about 6 weeks so it doesn't have to be too long until we see him again (and his parents ;) I think he had fun watching the kids and got to go on his first 4 wheeler ride too It was a pretty day mostly spent drinking wine on the porch before we watched the Tigers win that night. Of course the kids weren't just sitting. They got some use out of the latest dirt pile from the cave being built and Lilli got to shoot her gun too. Both girls fe

DixieMaze Field Trip

Image
Apollo's 2nd graders got to have a fun day today when they took a field trip to DixieMaze Farms. It's the only field trip parents are invited on this year so of course I was there. We had a group of 3 kids and one of their Moms showed up too so it was an easy day. Lilli got to spend the day with some of her best friends and I got to know the Mom who is new to town. I hope to get together with her again soon.  Poor Katie was going to go but she has strep so she stayed home and had a quiet day doing crafts, reading books and watching movies with Nana. She had fun and Nana was glad for the one on one time. She leaves tomorrow so I'm glad she got some time but we're sure going to miss her!

Pumpkin Sneak Peek

Image
We had our annual trip to Asbury Pumpkin Patch today with Yaya and Hailey and the boys. Since Nana is here this week, she got to be here too. It was hot and bright and all the kids seemed sleepy so it was a quick trip, but we got some cute pics. And some nice pumpkins to carve!  Lane wasn't having it! I know Yaya got some better pics on her real camera (she always does ;) but I love the ones with Nana. Such sweet memories. There will be a day that she can't visit anymore but for now, I'm loving every second.

So This Happened

If you know Matt McCormick, you know that "cat lover" is not the best way to describe him. But Katie would absolutely fit that description and Matt loves Katie so.... Meet Sammy! She's a 5 month old kitten that we brought back from Baton Rouge. The story of why is kind of sad. A person that goes to Lizard's church was recently diagnosed with cancer and couldn't keep her. Lizard knew Matt and I were considering getting Katie a cat for Christmas so she convinced us this was the cat for us and what was 2 months? She had lived with a dog. She was fixed. And she had all her "stuff". The lady was sad to give her up but she was glad to send her to a home where she will be loved and cared for. Katie is in heaven. Sammy is still a little nervous but she'll get used to us. The dogs are very curious and she doesn't seem to mind them to much. It won't be long until she's just another member of the family. Along with the 2 dogs, hamster, 2 frogs, 4 fi

Family Time and A Tiger Win

We have really enjoyed being out all week for fall break. I didn't like it when school started on August 2nd but now that I have a feel for this schedule, I think I do. It works out to where they have at least one week off each 9 weeks. We took advantage and came down to Baton Rouge on Thursday. It was nice to not be so rushed and have no plans on Friday. Everyone else was at work or school so I took the girls to the mall to shop the sales and ride the carousel ❤️the hand holding- they fight like sisters do but they truly love each other and are best friends❤️ We had some fun time with family at Jens.  I babysat that night while Jen and Ryan went out with some friends. The girls were so sweet. But fighting to stay awake until midnight while I waited on Daniel to get in made me very thankful I don't have teenagers yet.  Then Saturday morning we got up to take the girls to their first tailgate before the Auburn game. It started at 2:30 so we were out of the house by 9:00.  I can&

Some of Their Best Times

Image
Are spent at Yaya and Capn's house. The girls spent the night on Tuesday to take advantage of some extra time since they are on fall break all week.  They rolled in the dirt, dug in mole hills, had a picnic, picked veggies, made smores and pizza... and these are just the things they remembered to tell me. Some of my best childhood memories are from spending time with my grandparents and I know it'll be the same for my girls. 😍

So Far So Good

Image
I'm really getting in to real estate and I must say, so far I love it. Now, I haven't had a client yet but considering I've been licensed less than a month, that's still ok. I LOVE marketing. That was always my favorite in college. And according to my manager, I'm doing everything I'm supposed to. I'm attending training several times a week. Reaching out to my "sphere" to let them know I'm in the business.  I even created some cute gifts to drop off at the PTL Moms houses with my card. And I got the owner of the girl's gymnastics studio to agree to partner with me on a Facebook ad campaign. No date on that yet but I'm excited. I did an open house last week and have one today. My one today went really well. I had three different couples come in that are looking to buy now and they're not already working with an agent. I'm going home to work on getting them some property to see this week so hopefully that first client will be very

Apollo Has Been Busy!

Image
We've had a very busy couple of weeks with Apollo. I'm loving being active in the PTL and Lilli loves me being at her school so much but I feel like I've been going non-stop between volunteering and starting a business. It started a couple of weeks ago with the Chuck E. Cheese fundraiser night. No one WANTS to go there (except the kids of course) but what a great way to support the PTL.  And I'm pretty sure these kids think we made the right decision. Then last week was volunteering during book fair. Yaya came to keep Katie while I worked and brought her up to eat lunch with Lilli and shop. Earlier this week was National Walk to School Day and Apollo had parents meet in the neighborhood next to it to walk in groups together. Lillian was also class "Superstar" this week And I think she's a superstar too! She tested in to the talented theatre program. She'll be pulled out of class once a week for an hour to work with a coach to enhance these skills.  And
