Happy Birthday Lilli!

Image
A TEENAGER!! 😳 How did that happen? It was just yesterday that she was a baby in my arms. I love the collage of birthdays over the years and I will probably always post it. Even though today was pretty low key, I think she had a good day. We have already done half of our celebrations between our Dallas trip a couple of weeks ago and her sleepover Saturday, but she got to miss school and pick our meals so she was happy. 😊 Plus she has a family party in Baton Rouge and another at the deer camp coming up, so it’s not over yet!  We had our very first chicken eggs for breakfast and the first one we ever got was a double yolk! We met Yaya and Matt for lunch  And then came home for a quiet afternoon. I told her we could have whatever she wanted for dinner, but we were still full from lunch, so we decided cake was enough  We ended the day with a movie night. It was a good birthday and I can’t believe she is a teenager. She’s such a sweet and caring young woman and we are so proud of her. Hap

I’ve Been Slacking

We’ve had several things going on lately that I haven’t posted about. I normally try not to let so much time pass, but between work, homeschooling and everyday life, things have been crazy.  We had the best weekend last weekend with Shanon, Alex and the boys in town. The guys and Lillian hunted  The kids played And we hung out and visited for 2 days We always love it when we can get together with that part of the family. ❤️ Hailey had a birthday while we were up there, and Yaya’s was the weekend before, so we finally got together on Friday to celebrate both belated birthdays.  Lilli’s is coming up on Wednesday so last night was her “party.” She had two friends over and we went to eat at San Miguel and they spend the night Last Thursday was a day we had been waiting for for 6 months! We got our first egg!  Katie found it, but we left it outside and didn’t tell her so that Lilli could “find” it too. We know for sure the 1st was Dexy, and Fancy is now laying too. It won’t be long until we

Birthday Month

This family never really stops celebrating after the holidays because it’s one birthday after another. Between now and March, we will celebrate probably 75% of all of the birthdays in the family on both sides. Josey’s was 1st on the 5th. We didn’t get to see her on the actual day, but we did get to meet up with her for a surprise breakfast yesterday morning while we were in town. I wish I would have gotten a picture of her face when she saw us because she didn’t even know we were in town.  Today is Yaya’s!! And while we didn’t get to see her, we did FaceTime and hope that she has the best day. She’s a wonderful Mom, mother-in-law, and grandma to us and deserves nothing but the best today and everyday.  And Lilli’s is coming up in a couple of weeks, but she wasted no time in telling me it was her birthday month on New Years Day. We decided to start celebrating early this weekend since Josh’s buddies were at the camp and she couldn’t hunt. I took her and her BFF Maddi, plus Kathleen and

Holidays Have Come and Gone

I swear this is the longest Christmas break we have ever had. Technically they had school the 19th and 20th, but we didn’t go, so they have been out since December 16th and don’t go back until the 9th. Over 3 weeks! It seems like forever ago that we were in Baton Rouge, but that was a whole week into the break. That sickness that hit me on Christmas Eve turned out to be the flu and it knocked me down for a full week. Christmas Day was nice. We opened gifts that morning, including the ones from each other that I felt too bad to open Christmas Eve. We had sausage balls and cinnamon rolls for breakfast and cooked our huge meal, but it ended up being dinner instead of lunch because I couldn’t get moving to help with sides before that. Yaya and Capn couldn’t come and I couldn’t even make it through a movie without falling asleep, but I did manage to read the Christmas story and keep some of our traditions. Lilli told anyone that asked that she wanted a mini cow for Christmas. I’m not sure t
