KatieJane is 6

Miss Kathleen had a birthday on Friday and she’s had a big time. We started with presents before school We put Lilli on the bus but she got to stay home. I’ve made it a tradition to keep them out (or at least check out) on their birthdays for one on one time. We went to lunch with Yaya and then the two of them went for mani/pedis.  After Lillian got home we loaded up for a weekend at the camp. Michaelyn, Rick, Jen, Ryan, Anna and Piper we’re all there for the birthday evening. We had tacos/fajitas followed by presents and cake. She was a very happy girl!  Saturday morning me and Michaelyn took the girls to Katie’s soccer game and Yaya met us.  She scored an awesome goal and had an assist. Her fan club was very happy and proud of her.  The rest of the weekend was crawfish, four wheeler rides and family. Pops and Honey made it by Saturday afternoon and Capn and Yaya and Luke and Josie came out for the day too.  I think everyone agreed it was a perfect way to spend a birthday. Happy Birth

Excited for A Change

Image
I put up my first listing sign as a Century 21 Elite Agent today. I made the decision last week and it was all official through the State and local board today. I had lots of good friends at Coldwell Banker and liked a lot of things that they offered, but it pretty much boils down to a financial decision. I’ll make more money per closing here so it’s worth the extra effort for all the other stuff that the company doesn’t do for me. And it wasn’t part of the decision, but it doesn’t hurt that my office is practically in my neighborhood now too. And I have a desk in a room with only one other person instead of the eight at Coldwell Banker. I’m excited for this new chapter!

Easter Weekend

Image
We had a wonderful time in Baton Rouge and Covington for Easter weekend. Friday night the whole crew got together for dinner at Dads and we spent the night with Nana for some extra time with her. And then Saturday morning we drove down to Covington to spend the day at Michaelyn and Rick’s house. It was a lazy day of grilled burgers, swimming, boat ride and egg hunting and dyeing  We got back to Baton Rouge about dinner time and made a last-minute decision to pick up Nana and take her to dinner at a Mexican restaurant. That was an added bonus of the day for some extra time with her. And Sunday we woke up to the Easter bunny who had brought all kinds of goodies in their baskets and left eggs outside for another hunt. It was an early morning because we were at church at 8 o’clock to get there a little early for the service to celebrate the resurrection! All the baskets and eggs are fun but this is the reason for Easter and I love that the kids get involved and know that. We had to leave b

Brownlee Food Truck Night

Image
Tonight was our 2nd food truck night and again it was fun! We upped our game with a 2nd food truck and rented a bounce house. Me and a few neighbors split it and then set out a box for donations and we all ended up only spending about $10 so that worked out perfect and we’ll definitely do it again. We’ve already got a water slide rented for the last day of school.  The kids jumped for 2 1/2 hours and I love that even when I had to walk to show a house on our street I could leave them and had friends to watch them. It’s great social time and a great way to meet the neighbors. And the bonus is I went on two listing appointments last month from people I met so it’s a good way to network too. Matt came after work for a second but it was while I was showing and he decided it was “ a lot of women talking” so he took his plate to go. 😊  It’ll be even better when it’s not a school night. 5 more weeks!

Let’s Jump In To Art Exhibit

Image
The weather had different plans for Saturday so our art exhibit ended up being moved to Sunday. We were under a severe thunderstorm and tornado watch all day and even the church had to cancel our Easter carnival. As much as we hated it being moved, it worked out because poor Lillian was sick with a fever and stomach virus all day. She never got off the couch and was asleep by 7 PM. So Sunday we missed the Palm Sunday service too so that she could rest up for her show. She still wasn’t feeling great but put a smile on her face because the show must go on! Mrs. Kathleen had all of the art on display and I think it made all the kids feel so special that their art was up just like the adults art that they see for sale every time they are there.  Lillian had 9 pieces. Most were matted and framed and she had named them all. There’s an option to sell any anyone shows interest in but I can tell you some are not for sale. The cardinal was Yaya’s Christmas present that we borrowed for the show.

It’s Warming Up

Image
When the weather warms up so does the real estate market and it’s definitely starting for me! I am NOT complaining but this week has been crazy for our family. I have had an appointment with a client every evening but one since last Saturday (and have the same plans tonight and tomorrow) and have not been home before 6:45 any night. Matt has been home after me and the kids have been with me so I think we are all really tired. I’m taking Sunday off to enjoy the Palm Sunday service and afternoon as a family. But having three buyers and two listing consultations in a week is not something to be upset about so in that sense it’s going great!  The only evening that wasn’t a late night because of a client was Tuesday and that was only because I kept it free to watch our little soccer star. This season is going great and she scored another goal.  I love that this league takes so many action shots. I was able to get all of these from Facebook. We will definitely be playing with them again. Not

Some Bunny and A Soccer Star!

Image
Today was the first day of the spring soccer season and Katie was excited. She’s been learning so much in the 3 short weeks they have been practicing and has much more confidence than the fall. 8AM was an early time to start the day but she was happy to go. She even scored her first ever goal and she was proud!  Good job KJ! I know now that she knows she can she’s going to get more and more confident and have more and more fun.  We went from there to the Farmer’s Market with Dad and then to see Dumbo with friends. And then wewent straight to Josie’s 1st Birthday party. Some “bunny” is 1! Even though we got to hang out with her on the actual day on Thursday, We were really happy to celebrate at her party too It was a LONG day and we’re all tired but so full of fun. Tomorrow will be our rest day. :)

Cousins Camping

Image
Another campout in the books. I love that Matt makes the effort to create these experiences for the girls. The memories made are something they’ll remember forever and this time was even more special because Chad and Austin got to go with them too. The Dads had the tents set up so they were ready to go when they got there at 7ish. Capn brought me and Rachel to see the campsite but we were out about 20 minutes later.  Josey had decided she wasn’t sleeping outside and was already out in Rachel’s arms before we left.  The only rule was there are no rules. They ran up and down that hill with flashlights and played all night. Katie decided she was sleepy about 9:00 and went to sleep in the tent on her own (she won’t even do that at home!- That’s the difference between being with Mom and with Dad) The other 2 stayed up till around 11:00. I think the most exciting adventure was the snake they found wrapped around Austin’s water bottle. They played with it a little and then let it go.  That ri
