Too Much Sweetness

Image
We've had a good few days here lately and looking back at pictures made me saw awwwww.  I love this one of the cousins. We were missing Austin and Josey but we met up at Chuck E. Cheese yesterday to celebrate Case's birthday. It's really tomorrow but they are at Lake Ouachita with Hailey's family for the weekend and we are going to Rio Bonito so we had to celebrate early.  They all had fun and I think Case was happy with his party.  Then today, we went to Bossier City Animal Control to read to the animals. It's a new program they are doing that encourages reading in kids and gets the animals loved on.  Lilli read one book in the hour we were there. The rest was loving on them. I don't blame her, they were too cute! I'm going to try to take them once a week. It was fun but now I just have to figure out how to convince Matt to let us have a cat. ;)

Vacation Bible School

I'm so thankful for church friends. They may not be my best friends that I call daily but you can always count on them to help you out. First Methodist had their VBS last week and I hadn't planned to send the girls because we would miss the first couple of days being in Houston. My friend insisted I let them come and join her group (giving her 6! Kids, when everyone else had 4) because she knew I was behind on work and stressing           I love the lessons and songs they learned. My favorite quote of the week was from Lilli, "Mom, I try so hard not to sin but it's so hard to not be mean to Katie when she drives me crazy!" She was really distressed. The sweet innocence of children.  And this week they are going to VBS at Asbury in the evenings. Tiffany and I got together for dinner before today and it's always good to catch up. It's the first time I'd seen her this summer and it's hard to believe her twins will be here in 8 weeks. Katie didn't

Houston Visit

We FINALLY got to meet Logan! That was a long 3 week wait and the girls were so excited to meet their newest "cousin." Lilli sat and held him over an hour last night and even let the adults eat dinner together while she did.   Karie wasn't so sure about the baby getting all of the attention but she really loved him too. They are doing great! Even though Alex took a couple of weeks to feel better after delivery, she and Shanon were so relaxed and he is such a calm baby. He'd hang out in our arms and look around or sleep. Of course he still prefers his Mom, but that's the way it's supposed to be. :)   We stopped by Rachel and Chase's house on Sunday to meet Anson too. He's so cute and they seem to he doing great too.  We had to make a trip to Houston Methodist for Matt's 6 month check-up too. He always dreads it but it couldn't have gone better. (He had me take this picture for Lilli. She is fascinated by how many wires they can hook to her Dad

Congratulations Morgan and Matt!

Well they did it! After a year engagement we finally had the honor of watching Morgan and Matt become Mr. and Mrs. Klaser. The wedding was beautiful and we're so happy for them.     Jimmy did it too. He walked her down the aisle and had the Father/Daughter dance without crutches or a limp. I'm sure he was hurting but he said if the infection was going to kill him, it would have to wait until Sunday.    And Katie did it too! At the rehearsal Friday she was saying she wasn't going to be the flower girl. But she walked down that aisle with confidence and a smile on her face.  The ceremony was beautiful                                    (Cousin Kelly officiated)  The reception was at the same place and was so relaxed and fun. Matt has a Mexican heritage so they served margaritas and fajitas and even had a mariachi band at the start. Once the sun went down we danced until it was time to go. The kids weren't even in bed until 11:00 that night!           We really missed Al

Happy Father's Day

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads in my life. We thank Pops and Capn who raised us and taught us to be the people we are today. But especially a big Happy Father's Day to Matt who is the best Daddy to our girls. We love going through this crazy life with you! 😍

We Made It!

It took us 7 hours (with stops) but we made it New Braunfels for Morgan's wedding. We pretty much only had time to change and get ready for the rehearsal but ended up having such a fun night. We rehearsed at Morgan and Matt's house before going to dinner at River Hofbraeu. Kathleen wasn't so sure about her flower girl responsibilities at the rehearsal so we're praying today goes better. Lilli is ready to jump in and walk with her if necessary.    We toasted Morgan and matt, watched a slide slow and has a chance for the wedding party and family to get to know each other. Thankfully, Jimmy was able to be there too.    He had spent three days in the hospital because of an infection from a paddle boarding accident. But he got out just in time for the rehearsal and is now ready to walk her down the aisle.   Now everyone is ready for tubing and more partying today.

Superior Night

Thanks to Yaya and Capn for keeping the girls last night!   The timing was perfect. Our babysitter is out of town this week so I was able to go to the office yesterday and today. Plus, me and Matt had a date night to Superior. Thank y'all!!

Camp and Camping

Image
Lilli had an amazing week going to Sailing Camp at the Shreveport Yacht Club. Capn is a member and signed her up (thank you!) and she loved it!    I'm pretty positive she knows more about sailing than I do now and it's something she really wants to get in to. They sailed all but one day and she can hold a conversation with Matt about it.        In addition to sailing, they also did lots of swimming in the pool and lake, games, playing on the playground... she loved it all. The first day she was exhausted and tired and teary about how she didn't know anyone. By Wednesday, she was asking if I'd pick her up later.  Don't feel too bad for Katie- she had a good week too. On Monday we went to a park, Tuesday she got the babysitter to herself, Wednesday we went to the $1 movie before her "best friend" came over to play. It was her first one on one play date and the girls were so sweet. And then Thursday we went to the lake to swim with Yaya, Hailey, Case and Lane
