Lilli got a bike!

Image
Matt made a deal with Lilli about four months ago that she could have a bicycle when she was fully potty trained.  As in, no accidents and no arguing about using the potty for a week straight.  Well today she got the bike! I think we are finally done with all the issues.  Perfect timing too because I'll have a lot of diapers to change in about 2 months so it's really nice that we've made it through this with her.  We went to Walmart today at let her pick out her bike after church.  Then we picked up some Raising Cane's and had a picnic at the park before we attempted to teach her to ride it.  It probably wasn't the best plan to introduce her to the bike during what should have been nap time so we didn't stay very long.  She was a little afraid of the way it wobbled back and forth between the training wheels.  I tried again after her nap but we didn't make it very far out of the driveway.  She may still be a little young but we also know that she has alw

Chuck E Cheese!

Image
Yesterday Lilli and I met her friend Aubrey and her Mom Tiffany at Chuck E Cheese for the afternoon.  We started getting to know them at ballet each week and it turns out we go to the same church too.  We had just never met because we go to different services.  Lilli and Aubrey really get along and I am enjoying getting to know Tiffany too. The girls are only about 6 months apart and Tiffany is also a stay at home Mom so it's nice that we've found someone to do things during the week with. We got to Chuck E Cheese about 12:30 and stayed until after 3:00.  The girls had a blast the whole time but I think it was a little long for the Moms! ;) We'll be going back soon though.

Flashback!

Yaya has been doing some spring cleaning lately and I've really enjoyed looking at all of the old pictures she's found.  She gave us a bunch when we were at her house for Josh's birthday dinner last week and today Matt walked in with a flash drive of pictures that she took of Lilli at one week old.  I didn't have my blog at that point so I thought I would post a few.  It's crazy to think how little she was!

Valentine's Day and Storkvision Ultrasound

Image
We had such a good weekend.  On Thursday my Dad and Grandma came up from Baton Rouge and stayed with Lilli while Matt and I went to the deer camp for a night alone.  Matt cooked a delicious meal of fried shrimp, fried mushrooms and sweet potato fries.    They have a great fryer up there and fried shrimp is one of my favorite foods so this was exactly what I wanted.  We had a pretty lazy night but it was so nice to be alone with no responsibilities.  Friday morning we got up and continued our Valentine's Day with a couples massage and lunch in the Boardwalk.  We got home early in the afternoon and spend the rest of the day visiting with my Dad and Grandma. Saturday morning we had our 4D ultrasound at Storkvision and got our first peek of Kathleen Jane. She wasn't as cooperative as Lilli was when we had one 3 years ago but we still got a few good pictures and it's always fun to see her regardless.  It was the first time Nana had ever seen an ultrasound so it was espec

Work, work, work...

Matt and I decided a couple of months ago that we are ready to move.  We've toyed with the idea a few times over the last year but we got serious when I started working on the baby room and we realized just how much stuff we have that we don't have room for anymore.  We're going to stay in the same area but look for a 4th bedroom and more square footage.  We haven't been in a hurry but now that Matt is home on the weekends we have been trying to to get some things done to get it on the market in the next couple of weeks.  I'm definitely ready for it to all be done but I think Matt may be even more so.  He's not getting in a hurry but he has all of the big jobs and most of all he's ready for me to quit talking about it. :) So Saturday, he spent ALL day working in the yard while I did some cleaning out and taking things to storage and cleaning of the inside.  Of course he had a little helper by his side most of the morning. By the time he was done all of

Pancakes and Pajamas

Matt, Lilli and I all had a good time tonight at Asbury's pancakes and pajamas.  I'm not sure if it was the first time they had done this but it was the first time we'd gone at least.  All the kids came in their pjs and ate pancakes for dinner.  Then they all curled up in their sleeping bags to watch The Brave Little Toaster while the adults got to talk.  Of course this sweet picture of them laying down and being still didn't last the whole time but they loved it. It was a little long to hold their attention but no one seemed to mind.  When it was over Lilli actually said "Oh, no! I missed the whole thing," We just laughed and told her that was because she was playing through it.  I love that she really likes to go to church to see her friends and we're lucky that we like their parents so much too!

Austin is 1!

Image
I can't believe it has been a year already.  Austin turned one on Friday and Chad and Rachel had his birthday party yesterday afternoon in Dallas.  Matt, Lilli and I all left yesterday morning and drove over for the day.  Rachel had done such a good job coming up with the decorations for his sailing party. This was only one of the tables but she had details like this everywhere.  It was precious.  The weather was absolutely perfect too for sitting outside and talking with family and friends. But the best part of the whole party had to be watching Austin experience  his first bite of cake.  Rachel has been so good all year being sure to give him the healthiest foods but that boy knows what he's been missing now! hmm, not real sure what this is Maybe I'll just try one bite   This is wonderful, where has it been all of my life?!! Eventually Rachel decided it was time to take the cake away But you can always count on Grandpa, he gave it back and Aus
